Hi all, I got a rotex 90 3 1/2 inch random orbit sander with 2 modes aggressive sanding and fine sanding. Ali can be a detail sander. Bought to sand my deck and glider . In the glider the 3 1/2 pad works great on the slats. Almost took it back cause of a scuff ( thinking it might have been used) but figured out it was the plastic nest in the case that rubs there( photo of scratches in nest and scuff). Also owners manual was half under nest and crinkled and accessories were jumbled around. Dealer didn’t want to go up on lift to get another. I seen scuff when I got it home. I figured accessories might have moved in shipping. Couldn’t find sawdust anywhere. It sanded the stain off in aggressive mode with 80 grit garat Festool paper. Must use two hands very hard to control in aggressive mode . Wasn’t much better in fine random orbit mode. But it does hog wood well. It even sands the pressure treated well with delta detail attachment. I like it but it may be just a dedicated outdoor deck/ furniture sander. My porter cable 12 pound 12 amp belt sander sanded deck boards with 60 grit. This Festool is hogging on 80. Also bought a little makita 9031 1 1/8x21 detail belt sander yo sand under railings. I like this sander cause my Bosch 3107 random orbit and my porter cable finish sander and fein multimaster with detail sander attachment struggle with pressure treated pine.

The detail sander attachment loads the paper easy and the dust collection doesn’t work as well.
