That is a monster space! Congrats on getting the project going. Hope you are doing well, sir! :) I am looking forward to see the finishing stages and how you plan to use it.

WALT: i recall having that security coin warning too maybe few years ago and i think it was when i was posting from my wife's Ipad. how do you post pictures?

looking great BTW and i'm very happy you changed contractors.

good luck and keep taking pictures so you and we can enjoy the progress.

Drives I go directly from my computer to garage journal. Some one tried to tell me how to go to photo bucket and upload them there then go to the journal. I was not successful even getting them to photo bucket. Computer literate I am not and I am sure all my problems are created by myself. Well for the time being all seems to be working.

Walt: i used to use Photobucket for years on Craigslist and when i started posting here. then somebody told me that if i used the paperclip just above where we post you click on that and download up to 7 pictures per post and if you have more pictures make another post or two.

then if the viewer wants to see more than a thumbnail they click on the picture you have on your thread twice and it's full size like the Photobucket ones were with less effort.

are you using the paperclip? ask questions if you still need help or it looks like you might have it sort of figured out. in any case just keep taking a ton of pictures both inside and outside and post them up as you can.

speaking of big garages have you figured out how you are going to set it up yet?

i know any space will fill up quick as i'm getting ready to maybe get another storage unit on short term lease while i GET ORGANIZED. i wish i had the space to build a big shop so maybe sometime in the near future now that the kids are all almost done with college and moved out.

cheers and happy to hear you love your bride!

Drives I do not see the paper clip you refer to. As for the set up inside I am going to play it by ear for a while to see how things go, then start to set things where I want them. The only thing that will be in a permanent position for now will be my two post lift.

Walt, the paperclip icon Drives is referring to is here when you start post. Please excuse the crappy cell phone pic.

Thanks finallygotit I see the the elusive paper clip now. Let me see what it does although I do not have more than 1 pic now. I have been scrolling down to the next box and checking manage attachments. Looks like you get the same results either way.

FGI: one of these days i'm going to have to figure out how to do SCREEN SHOTS and those cool circles and pointing arrows. thanks for helping!!

WALT: i know there are many many ways to post pictures on GJ and since i started using the paperclip i have never had an issue. if i post from my wife's Ipad or Iphone sometimes the pictures would come up sideways though and not sure why.

anyway keep taking tons of pictures and post what you have time to. if you still need a little help just ask. it sounded like you had some issues with limitations of only 4 pics and i've never had that issue even when i used to use PHOTOBUCKET. maybe it's the device you are posting them from?

anyway hope your next Dr. appt. has good results and really happy to see you might have your contractor thing figured out.

cheers!!

Drives thanks for the reply. I only have two new pictures but I think I will try the paper clip route and use some older pictures to see what happens. Well the paper clip way leaves the same message (a security token is missing.) Here is the four max way with only two.

WALT: how are you posting? from a laptop, cell phone or Ipad? i seem to recall the SECURITY TOKEN warning at some point, but i can't recall if it was on GJ or another site i was reading.

keep at it and maybe send a PM to one of the MODS and ask if they might have a remedy cause i know you are trying your best to get us some pictures.

what i like is your garage is so damn big you can't get it in one picture and almost need 7 pictures to do a panoramic shot. :D

one of these day's you'll be sitting in your new shop, sipping a cold beverage reading garage journal on a 36 inch flat screen and tipping one our way saying this is the life (at least i hope you will).

cheers

Cougar and FGI: thanks again for helping me TECH UP!!

Walt: so how to you take your pictures and download them to your computer? if you have pictures saved to your computer in .jpg format i've never had issues loading them that i recall, but i do know I've seen a security token at some time while loading pictures on some site and can't recall if it was here.

good luck and keep asking questions if you keep having issues cause looks like there are more than a few helpers her on GJ that have some skills in that department to help us.

My wife takes the pictures with a Nikon coolpix. I then download to my desktop computer to my pictures file. All the pix in the file have a dscn before the number of the pix. What format that equals is beyond me.

Walt,

The "dscn" is probably followed by a few numbers then a ".jpg". I'm assuming that the camera takes a picture in the JPEG format. It might have a ".png", etc. Let us know please.

Thanks

Finallygotit the dscn is followed by a number which is a sequence number as in 1443,1444 etc. Nothing else after the number. What format the camera pictures are I haven't a clue.
walt Further investigation showed item type is JPG.

No more pic now. I tried the paper clip and I could only do 4 pic without getting the message about a missing token.

Walt: i know there are some help threads when it comes to picture posting. have you read any of them? do you know how to PM a MOD and maybe they can help you?

keep taking pictures and we'll figure out how you can post all of them eventually.

Walt: i just sent you a PM (private message) that is sort of like email to just other members. did you receive it? can you send me a PM back so I know you know how to? then we'll have you send a PM to a MOD. i would have PM'd a MOD for you, but thought you'd rather learn how to. ok?

good luck and this is a lot easier than picking contractors.

Walt, look over at the top right of this page, where it has "Welcome Walt111"
if you have a PM, there will be a flashing envelope, click on that and reply to Drives.

Thanks dw1 I did that and sent a message to nutsgt requesting help on this picture thing.
Now on to my trip to Nashville to Vanderbilt. No more foley, worthy of a party. Looks like KEMO and radiation for the next six months.
On a much happier note to me my contractor was here yesterday while I was gone. To dark out to take pictures but it looks like he finished the north side.
Picts to follow.

WALT: best of luck with the Chemo and hope that takes care of that issue. it sounds like your contractor doesn't need you around to do his job either and the work looks good from my chair.

even if you don't figure out how to post more than 4 pictures at least you know how to do a PM now if you need to again.

take care!!
