My new Freind (puppy)

Say hello to my new little buddy I just picked him up today the last male out of a littler of 11 their was 6 females left after I got this little fella. He is 9 weeks old born on the 18th of December now the fun part begins training and housebreaking him

Very nice looking dogs you have I hope to make out well with him. My hopes are for a good family dog that is good with children Has a great temper and a well rounded feild dog that will go hunting with me hiking and campling. but I have never seen a golden retriver That doesnt get along with children and that disllikes being outside playing in the water ect so I am not to concernd abought it

no ***** spam adds from me. I added puppy to the title lol He is sleeping by my feet right now, I was just playing fetch with him and a tennis ball I have a good feeling he is going to be a great dog. now I just need to wait tell the ice clears the lake and the water warms up some

Nothing like an old dog.Gotta love them.

My 12 yr old boxer died last year and it sucked. We now have a 1yr old female boxer and Sara my 12 yr old adopted terrier mix.Id rather spend time with these two than most people I know.

Thats a great looking pup. They grow up too fast. Except for the potty training part. That cant get over fast enough!

At the risk of turning this into the Dog Journal Board, I would like to give a major recommendation for invisible fence type products. If you live someplace far in the country where dogs can just run free, then you can ignore this. I live on three wooded acres. My black lab adapted to the system super quickly. I can just let her out whenever I want without worrying. She gets more freedom. I don't have to stand there with a leash waiting for her to poop. A win-win.

Just to offer a second perspective on this, the invisible fence can be very helpful, but it doesn't keep other animals out.

I have about 1.25 acre near some wooded areas. On occasion a ground hog moves in under my shed. Recently a fox followed him inside my fenced in lot and I let the two goldens out after I fed them one morning. Fortunately I was out with them. Since there were two dogs, the fox was not aggressive at all and was running for its life. After 10 min of us chasing the fox, he figured a way out. I'll tell out what those fox teeth certainly look like they could shred some flesh! I would be concerned that this could be a more common occurance if I only had an invisible fence.

I am going to look into a invisable fence shortly right now I am in the town and I don't have the largest yard my main reason for looking into the fence is to remove the 20 foot rope I tie the dog's up on when they go to do their duty's. And no the 20 feet of rope will not be his only exercise I am a 5 minute walk from a nice wooded area and a bunch of open feilds to go play in

What are some of the finer product's out their for the invisable fence I saw one for 149$ but I am not sure of the quality? I would hate for him to go out and get a nasty shock or the fence not work and they go chasing after a car or something Well I am more concernd abought the husky chasing stuff lol

They say you will have many good friends in your life, but only one good dog. I lost my good dog about a year ago, after 17 years.

She was without a doubt the smartest animal I have ever known, and kept tabs on my kids when they were little out here in the Wild West. She was a Queensland/Border Collie mix, and kept the little ones heeled so they didn't wander too far.

I think a fence is a good idea and a good investment. I have an "actual" fence rather than a "virtual" one.

Our current dog is a Chihuahua. She's pretty good for being a little yapper, but I guess I shouldn't expect too much, since her brain is only the size of a golf ball, lol.

That is a very nice looking puppy. I wish I had the time for another dog but sometimes I work out of town and it just isn't possible.

We have the Innotek SD-2100. It's worked great for a couple of years now. We also have a petsafe wireless system we use at my inlaws house. It has worked well too. The wireless system is easier to install, but the dog's territory is a circle around the transmitter. The wired system allows the boundary to be any shape you want.
