I recently retired and my wife and I move to Fernandina Beach, FL from Atlanta. I'm 61 and have been wrenching on things for as long as I can remember. I've restored a few cars over the years which will be my hobby in retirement. I retired as a CIO but in when I was 14, I started working in a lawn mower repair shop. After dropping out of college, I spent about 8 years as a heavy equipment mechanic until I got smart enough to go back to school and finish at 30 years old. Needless to say, I know my way around a shop.
We're building our house which had a "3" car garage (really 2-3/4). We added a 3rd bay so I'll have enough room (now 3-3/4). The double side door is 8' high by 16' wide. The single side (wife's) has an 8x8 door. The "3/4" garage in the front will be my "shop" but I'm planning on installing a lift in the double bay. I have a Jeep (built) and the wife has a Yukon. I also have a Harley ('15 CVO Limited).
I'll finally have room for more tool boxes for easy access to all of my tools. Looking forward to being a member of the Garage Journal Community and hope to learn a lot and contribute where I can.
