We've been in our new house for 6 years now and have been dealing with a small attached two car garage for too long. So, we are finally taking the plunge and building a detached 32'x32' 2-car garage this year. Started excavation 8/6/13. We contracted out the excavation and foundation and will be doing the rest myself with help from family and friends. Pictures to follow.......

We finished the trusses and roof sheathing last weekend, just need to get some updated pictures to post. The shingles were delivered this week, so that is this weekend's project.

your front elevation draft has stone on the front right side...did you change your mind ? it would have been easier to use ten inch foundation blocks so you have a sill to do your stone work ...looks like its going to be a nice building though ...keep up the good work!

No need for a support for the stone. I'm using a stone veneer from Environmental Stoneworks. Just gets applied over a wire mesh nailed on the sheeting and a scratch coat.

Not much progress lately, just prepping the base and installing channel drains for the floor. Floor is scheduled to be poured this weekend.

Doors and windows are ordered. I will post pics of the progress soon. Hope to get it all closed in before it gets too cold here!

Beautiful setting with those big trees around it. Nicely composed!

These last five posts were from the end of 2014. Final Excavating complete, Grass panted, driveway stone complete, lathe ready from scratch coat for stone veneer, and Stucco about 75% complete.

The following are pictures of where the garage is as of today. Outside is complete with the exception of rain gutter and downspouts. Its been a long two years to get here, but it is well worth it. A lot of work to complete on nights and weekends for one guy.

Very rewarding to see the finished product of all my hard work!
