Hey guys, fairly new here and thought you might be interested in how I did my garage this last year. still working on the interior because I had works in progress as I finished the outside and had to move in. For my three year old I have his own play area so he comes out and works all the time. Because of building codes it had to be attached to the main house so I put a carport between the two. thanks to everyone for the sharing share pics, the ideas here are great!!

Bill.

Nice digs, Bill. Makes my 30 x 30 look small...

I've got the same table in chairs in mine for my daughters (5 and 7)! I've promised them a workbench once the garage is done...they're pretty hyped at the idea.

thanks for the nice comments! a little more about my "castle", I built my house about 10 years ago with a 35x35 attached garage thinking that would be as big as I would ever need. well, as you all know its never big enough and life happened and needed additional living space as well as garage space so I decided to build a new garage and convert the old one to living space since it could be easily integrated. Finally after 10 months of fighting with the city I got my plans approved for a 50x75 foot, 12 ft walled building but had to attach it to the house. the bottom 2 feet is concrete so I can hose it out and not get the wood studs wet and 2x6 up from there. its great, I can stand up in the back of my truck and not bang my head anymore.. ;) total cost so far was about $50k which included a 600sq ft livable guest house in the one corner of it and eventually I will close in the upstairs for my den and storage. As for garage toys, which is probably a thread for another category but I have a couple 57 chevy's, a yenko deuce, a nova ss427, and a 69 RS z/28 that are normally in there. Had a couple of early broncos to round it all out but sold those a couple months ago to help pay for the building.

That is a really nice garage but I do think you need more lighting. If it was mine I sure would put more lights in there. Kinda dark. (In pictures anyway) I just like a lot of light in my garage. I would love to have a garage like that. Really nice.

thanks 86swb, you are correct, I need more lighting and part of it is the pics and then to upload I had to downgrade the quality which made them appear even darker. I had a couple of halogens wired in until about 3 weeks ago when I put up some florescents I had from another project. they give better dispersal of light but not as bright. One thing at a time I guess. :)
