I’m new here but thought I’d share the progress on my new shop, I posted in another forum on her but realized it wasn’t the right one.

It’s been a long time coming for me getting this and I’m pretty excited. It’s a 24x25 garage that will be for storage for my toys and work shop for maintenance on them plus just odd projects. a430f641f2cc813590ee27b287c65366.jpg

You can post I the Q&A section for the mods to merge the two threads together if you want.
Include the two links in your question.

I read your other thread so keep us updated on the build progress.

Post your location too so others nearby can assist with any questions you might have during the build.

Thanks I’m located in belle cote, Nova Scotia, a small community on the western side of Cape Breton right on the world famous Cabot trail. This is a picture of the sunset from my house with my drone. 22130bed4918f7e1886ced4260f09ea3.jpg

Thanks I love it I grew up near the water so when my wife and I were looking for our first place we wanted to have a view we lucked into this place it was an old farmers field that had been for sale for years but the buddy was asking an outrageous amount of money for it. We made him a pretty low offer just to see if he’d bite and he said he needed the money for something so he jumped on it.

Nice drone shots. Good luck on your project. Since you are in Nova Scotia, I have to ask, what the hell is buried on Oak Island?! :bounce:

Trusses landed this morning caught me off guard when I got the call that the truck driver was at my place and wanted to know where to put the trusses. We still don’t have the concrete poured but I’ll take it one less thing that will hold up the process.99ce6320796672a3a651208dcffa9f58.jpg

Been a while but I’ve been busy, siding is all done except for one piece above the door ran out unfortunately. Wiring is almost done, waiting on the garage door to be installed, it’s in at the supplier just have to wait for the installer to come which is supposed to be this week. Once it’s installed I’ll be putting up the insulation and vapour barrier and then a buddy of mine will put up the drywall. 9f214232c99eaf8d95797f63aa942635.jpg

Love the scenery! Must be nice to have a drone to get some pics you usually can't get.

Workshop is getting along fast, nice work. Enjoy, that will probably be the emptiest you'll see it once done? ;)

Ya I love the drone just got it this summer and haven’t had a lot of time to play around with it. As far as the shop nope won’t take long to fill her up, two sleds, sxs, four wheel and a lawn mower will make her look small in a hurry but it still better than what I’ve had since we moved in l, a small 12x10 baby barn that the sxs took up the whole thing basically.

Are you using batts in the roof, and if so why not blown in cellulose? I started out with batts but ended up with cold spots because the insulation would not conform to all of the shapes around the trusses. I ended up pulling the batts out from the edges and using cellulose over everything.

Looks great. Interested to see you fill it up and setup your workspace because it sounds like we have the same addiction.... I mean hobbies.

Wasn’t enough room to crawl around in the attic space we thought about it but just wasn’t practical.

Can't wait to see more updates, I think it's also best to have an access door. what do you think?

100 percent here where I live there’s a lot of times we won’t be able to ope the garage door because of the wind it will blow everything around and it’s hard on the doors being mid way up with the wind blowing 80-90 kms an hour

Funny, I looked at the first photo and thought it looked familiar. I'm over on the east side of the island, but get up to Cheticamp a couple of times a year for work. A friend of mine has a summer place in Belle Cote.

Your garage looks great, it's really coming along.

Man, a little jealous of your pace, it took me that long to hang my garage doors

I’ve been planning on this garage for 3 plus years, it’s so nice to finally have it comeing together. I paid someone to put up the shell and do the garage door, then my cousin and I wired it (he’s an electrician and I took electrical in college but never persuaded it) then when that was finished I worked last weekend and every evening so far this week doing the insulation. I’ve been working till around 8 every night, which isn’t too bad. I’m hoping to have it all finished by the time the snow flys so I can get out on the sleds, my buddy and I are going to do the drywall hope to start either this weekend or next week after work it will depend on the weather he’s fishing scallops so on nice days he’ll be out fishing all day, but here in November those days are few and far between.
