My formerly new house and plantation. LOL life changes

IS1zzt2gyo7yxa0000000000.jpg

signed today so now slave to mortgage for next 30 years but very happy to be further out in the woods and away from Busy Town we live in now with nosy neighbors.

Garage is much larger too with dimensions of 28x38 and ceiling of 12 feet. Perfect for a lift and garage has 220V already installed. Perfect for the welder and air compressor.

But here is the kicker has a sweet Maple Sugar Shack on the lower end of the property.

My GC that I have been using for the last 5 years said we will discuss adding to the structure so I can work down there vs the house. Don't like to fumes in the main house so this is perfect for our Shifter-Karts and BMW's. And when I get tired of that I can venture up to the Pool.

Lets just say I'm excited. We listed our existing as a rental and got plenty of perspective tenants which made us very happy being that was our first home we renovated.

Granville Mass, moved a bit west from Westfield. Used to live in ManchVegas about 7 years ago. Miss the granite state's gun laws compared to communist state of Massatwoshists....

but it was a compromise with better half.

I figured it was in the mass-nh-Vermont area. Opposite for me, grew up in MA, and moved up to NH when I bought my house. Thankfully my wife (also from MA) wanted to move to NH as well.

So recent things moved my 12x28 shed from old house to the new one.

Over the summer I had a few visitors, turkey wander through the yard nearly daily but not sure how often this wanders by.

Trying to get karts put away for the winter. Needed better way of storing them from traditional vertical way in the corner.

Winter had broke but it's back here in New England. Had 3-5 this morning and 5-8 tonight grr. I had been finally gotten motivated to get into my barn and start cleaning and put **** away.

As you can see I get distracted easily. And don't seem to finish before moving along to the next squirrel as my wife refers to it.

So my wife went over the top this year. I am retiring from the service after 30 years working with USAF and starting a new career somewhere else and for my birthday/retirement she got me That. a new shiny new F150 Ecoboost 3.5l with lots of toys but no leather and has dual sunroof. Awesome huh?

Yeah been on a lull lately, been busy with work trying to get out the door and transistion plus get the garage insulated closed up tight to keep out the mice this year.

I made some 5 gallon bucket mice traps with peanut butter and traps to drown the suckers. My wife and I are also expanding the new house on the back to have an internal staircase so her mother can move into the space above the garage. It will have a stair chair mounted to the wall to make it ease on her hip.

Hi M-technik, did you fly the C-5's out of Westover? I see (mostly hear) those flying over my house in Amherst all the time...pretty impressive aircraft.

Yes that's Tuesday's and Thursday locals....Don't worry in about a year from now we will have our old refurbished jets back with nice quiet CFM56's hanging from the pylons with nice quiet engines.

Started back at my wife's M3 the other day. Got the powertrain out, and cleaned the engine bay and ordered some hoses and seals to do before I put the engine back in the car.

So been on road a bit and while I was gone my buddy who is GC/Carpenter built an internal staircase for the space above the garage. It's has HVAC up there now so it's now just about living space, bringing the walls up to decent R code and drywall in the garage portion.

Oh we had nearly 5 inches of snow yesterday, OCT 27!!! crazy.

She asked for a divorce in March, guess she wasn't a keeper and the truck was a guilt buy. Truck is gone she is gone, I am moving back in July to what was our old house.

Life truly ***** at times. Was in a point where I really needed her and she just quit on me. Best of luck to her in the future, I will bounce back at some point. It just takes TIME.....and I am in no rush to even consider anything. Landed a new job just waiting on a starting date. So between retirement pay and job I will be comfortable for now.

I'm sorry to hear this. Life truly does **** at times.

It is hard for me to give you much advice because I've never been in your position..... but I'm sure you will bounce back. The best advice I can give you is to stay busy and use this opportunity to live life for yourself for a change, and to do some of the things you've wanted to do over the years.

Hang in there and best of luck.

Sure does, dealing with pain and sting of it. Still all to new, and got served last week so needless to say I went to the doctor to gets some help. Taking anti depressants and talking with a counselor, she wont come so I try to pick up my head and I'll move on wishing her the best.

Shame, really thought she was the one. All the plans and dreams just **** gone.

Man, I'm truly sorry for what you are going through right now. And I know it won't help you much right now in the moment, but everything happens for a reason (cliche, yes, but still true). You'll come out of this stronger and a better person and eventually, you will find true happiness. It will take time, but you will get there.

Those plans and dreams you had are on hold, not gone. Keep yourself busy (pick up a new hobby!), get out of the house as much as possible and talk to family/friends as much as you can.

I know we don't know one another on a personal level, but I feel as though garagejournal is a bit of a family, so we're thinking of you. If you're ever in the Southcoast area and want to grab a drink, just let me know.

Yeah, been keeping busy and working out like man possessed because it makes me sleep and the natural high you get from it. I don't drink anymore, anti's plus I don't need it.

I am working upon myself, it's what she wanted me to do awhile back just not the way I planned it. Most days are better but some are miserable. I try my best to keep my head up and use my support group. She realises she made a mistake but at the present time there is no going back that I can think of. Shame.

I am attempting to goto eeurofest at LRP in june.

So transitioned back to the old house and divorce is going slowly. Been financially struggling a bit but getting a part time job on top of full time job because Judge ordered my retirement pay to go into escrow. Got to love when I can't enjoy my own money.

Guess I can look at it as forced savings program lol. Been trying to decide whether to spend money on tearing down old garage and building a new one on the existing footprint of 24x26 or expand it a bit bigger say 24x32, existing one is a garage it needs to be demolished at some point since it's sagging and the roof is made of 1x5 so don't think it can stand too more heavy snow loads.

Any progress on making a decision?

Going to start fresh. Have to wait till after divorce is settled and finalized. My retirement is going to escrow as judge ordered. I did purchase a more reliable used car so I could park my E30 M3, as my what was a daily driver had it's head gasket fail and then developed a fuel leak and I just don't have the time and energy to get it fixed. Decided to scrap it aka chump car maybe next year with our dysfunctional race team.

24x34 is what I'd like but I need to move it forward on the property and possibly connect it to the house. will be doing 11 foot walls and attic trusses but not gambrel, don't like the aesthetics of it.

I hear you on the tough times, but did you really give up on a real E30 M3?

those are bringing serious cash now, not to mention just how awesome they are.

We made a decision 3 years ago to sell one of the two I owned to help with financing that house. I sold it for good money not ludicrous money but good money and made a good profit. I know the owner and he is still happy with the car as well.

I still have my Zinno E30 M3 so life gets better one day at a time. I have days of depression but for most part everybody has bad days where they get down correct. Mine is little bit worse than everyday but I just work to bounce back.

Right now I need to learn sketch up and draw different layouts on how I want my new garage to look beside the house and if I want to connect it via a small breezeway.

Correct, swap done buy? Not sure think a shop did it it's clean and still has emissions systems aka secondary air pump and of course obd 2 cats as they flow great. Was toying adding some FI to the car but honestly it's not needed. Making the car too fast or over powering the chassis is not fun and that's when things start to break. BTDT and we have a 65 mph speed limit I don't get to the track but about once a month and then it's in a dedicated track car now.

I always had a soft spot in my heart for those Ti's. When done right, they can look really good. Sounds like a fun project for you, enjoy it!

Yes I call em halfer's as they are half E36 front end and half E30 rear ends. Make for cheap insurance as it has 4 airbags and supposedly a 4 cylinder lol.

very cool projects!! I like that 12x28 shed do you have more pics of it?

Yes I have some I'll look for em. I purchased it from The Barnyard at the Big E fair back in 2010 and it's been moved once and has been rock solid and cheap at 5K. Now granted I had to pay for delivery and taxes but If I needed another garage I had briefly considered another as it's considered a shed so taxes here are cheaper as it goes on a gravel bed vs concrete and permanent.
