both honestly. after the ex destroyed the old business and shop, well i got a chance to start over. its 2,000sqft of office space, and 10,000 shop space combined. larger parking lot on either side, and chance to rent the car wash's next door (i'll have pics once the weather breaks.

im renting. for a retarded price that im not going to post

alot done, glass block windows come thrusday
tearing out some walls in the small room and building the parts room the way i want it
starting tearing out the old racking in the main room and saving pieces from it to build some bars for other windows, got steel mesh on the garage door windows. its not that its a bad area, but i know whats going to be inside, so i have to secure it the best i can.

If I might ask, what business are you going to have there?I'm guessing automotive, but are we talking high performance or something else? Diesel? Motorcycles? I work in Columbus at the airport so I'm just curious as to where you'll be located and if it's a business I can support (parts, dyno time, etc.)

right now im in a building by the airport off 5th. i do alot of general auto repair, but i have a shop full of custom cars currently. currently full of mustangs, a large turbo srt-4 neon, and a few driveline swaps and so on. we offer dyno (cars/trucks and bikes btw) and tuning services, but not in house as of yet. we sell some aftermarket product, but the building upgrade was in order, but the business i share space with currently, is just a **** hole, and he does shady work (he does body and stereo and has not done a thing that impress's me) and has no business morals either. looking into gaining fleet accounts and offering more product and services as we go.

Thats a pretty awesome space man.
And its hard to move up, when the guy beside you keep pulling you down.
good on you for getting out and making it on your own.
By the sounds of it you will have a good thing going with the rental of some of the space.
The car wash i'd keep for myself though.. those places can be a virtual money making machine. Depending on the quality of it of course.

Good for you! I know what you mean about getting good lease rates. If I showed you the 133,000 sq ft place I leased from the city for $1.00 a month, most wouldn't believe it.
Good luck with your business re-energizing!

Looks like a great place to film Saw VIII...Must just be the wet floors and chains. But really, it looks like it's coming along great. Lots of space and character..."Oh yes, There will be blood"

well i got this on a deal, and im going to be trying it!
IMG_20120118_235757.jpg

mainly going in my parts hall way, and maybe my parts room, and engine room. all total that 860 some odd sqft. not sure if this kit if enough to cover it, but honestly not pressed about that. my biggest battle is going to be prep. the concrete in this area is from the 40s, and rough. heres my plan and tell me if im wrong, big thing is to paint the bare wood and drywall in those areas, then clean with acid, and then hit it with some sort of mortar or leveling compound to smooth out the surface. i cant go all out in leveling, over the large area , that would be just too much IMO. i want to coat these areas to make the floor nice. mainly in the hall way area, cause customer will be walking in that area.
i got this kit on a deal, and im wanting to just try it, cause i want to try my hand at it, before i start doing any space in my shop floor. (its much worse then the smaller area) and i got this kit ona deal, which it brand new, and i figured why not right? any ideas on prepping my grease ridden 70 year old floor is what im needing at this point. the last thing i want it the filler coming out in a few months, or the coating coming off either. but then thats the whole idea of being here on the forum. but im going to copy this post over to the flooring section as well. to get more direct feedback on it.
