Hey folks,
I wanted to take a moment to share my RaceDeck experience. I live in the Washington, D.C. area and struggled over what I wanted to put on my garage floor. We had a fire in my garage last winter so the floor was a mess from decades of auto repair and oil spilling everywhere and burning during the fire. The idea of grinding the floor myself to deal with the oil and then putting epoxy on it myself was not something I wanted to get in to and then regret. I powerwashed and degreased the floor 5 times to almost no avail.
We get a fair amount of snow in this area so I struggled with whether to get solid tile or the open tile. I sent solid and plan on keeping a squeegee in the garage to pull the snow/slush.
I got estimates for epoxy from $1700-$1900 which I couldn't justify to myself. I started doing some research and stumbled upon RaceDeck and then this forum. I got a great deal of answers and information to help me make my decision.
I learned that RaceDeck gives special pricing to Garage Journal members so I reached out to them. I got a great price, great customer service and my floor showed up in about 1 week.
The bulk of the flooring in my one car garage installed in about 1 hour. Once I got to the part that needed cutting it did slow down considerably but probably another hour or two tops. I used a jig saw with a 40 tooth blade and it cut nicely. I used a jig to guide the saw to make straight cuts. Everything went together so smoothly that my kids basically installed 90% of the tile!
All my friends are very impressed not only with the look but also the quality and simplicity of RaceDeck. It isn't often that I am this happy with a purchase but when I am I do share it. I'm HAPPY!
Thanks to the team from RaceDeck, in particular Jennifer Storms who helped me with my decision making and final purchase.
I plan on installing VersaTrak on the walls and a Costco storage system over the tool bench so this is just the start, but I'm headed in the right direction. THANKS RACEDECK!!
