I sold some stuff on eBay to add a new tool to my garage, a shop press. I'm doing a rear gear swap in my 2008 Mustang GT. I wanted to get a press for installing my new pinion bearing and diff carrier bearings. I also plan on the eventual need to replace ball joints, suspension bushings and other miscellaneous things that one would use a press for.

This is the new design 12 ton press from harbor freight. It was pretty easy to put together. I had some help from my oldest daughter. The bolts are just hand tight for now. I plan on squaring everything up and hitting the bolts with an impact wrench to really get them tight. Looking forward to using this guy.

As has been said many times....it's one of those tools that generally sits in the corner collecting dust, but when you need it.....there is no substitute. Good work!

Your daughter is precious. Hang onto her, she will be 22 before you realize it.

I love my HF press. The new models are improved over the older models. I use mine all the time and put locking casters on it to make it little more handy to move around when need to.

I just picked up the older version for $50, lady bought it to stamp wedding invitations and after doing a few, she had a business do them for her instead. The press is like new but I wish it was the new version like yours.

I have the 20 ton press and I added a piece or plywood to,the bottom and 4 casters.
Now all,the plates, adapters and such are all together and I can roll,it into the corner or pull it out when I need it

I got the 20T HF press and use it once in a while. Nice addition the the shop. you won't be sorry if you have the room. Your cute photo reminds me of my 3 and 6 yr old Daddy's helper girls who are now 25 and 28. Take plenty of photos and video.

I had fun putting it together with my daughter. I brought out extra wrenches so she could have her own tools to help me with. She is 21 months old. I've got two daughters, and they are going to be more than welcome to help me work on cars and do other mechanical type of work.

I expect the press to be one of those tools that doesn't get used often. But, there will be the occasional need for it where it is going to be the right to fit the job and I'll be glad I have it. I've got the space for it, so it will be worth having it.

Yes, I used my 20% of coupon. I don't ever pay full price for larger items at harbor freight.

Exactly right.

For the average guy it will sit there unused most of the time but when you need it there is just no other tool.

Work carefully, it is an amazing tool but a very dangerous one also.

Same here, except I used a 2x6 frame to push my 12T unit up so it had a better working height.
