My new shop space. 60x40

Finally, after almost 24 months of delays, I signed the lease on my new space. It is 5 minutes door to door from my house, which is a huge improvement over the 45 minute drive to my current shop.

Here are a couple of pics. I will add more once I get it cleaned up and start moving stuff in. The space is 60' x 40'.

Looks nice, do you plan on covering the insulation on the walls?

Is this hobby only or for your detail business?

I am undecided on covering the insulation. I didn't do it in my current space and haven't had any issues. A lot will depend on where I decide to put the wash bay.

It is mainly for my detail business, but it will allow me some hobby space as well when needed. I have two long term customer projects right now, and it was hard to juggle them and daily detailing customers in the 1,000 Sqft I currently have.

Awesome space.
Eager to see how you set it up, especially with detailing in mind. Couldn't imagine a 45 commute for a shop, unless it was also your employment.

I hate to be negative, cause that is awesome, but if your lease is based on square footage, I would get a tape measurement and check that so called 40ft width, cause it sure looks more like 30ft to me, based on the 2 garage doors in the photo. Hope I am wrong.

It is actually 41' x 60'5".. it is 15'5" ft from the wall to the first saw cut, and 25'7" from the saw cut to the wall on the right with the large door. I measured the entire place. Not the greatest of build quality on the concrete, but I have been doing business with this landlord for years and they bend over backwards for me.

As an added bonus, there are two Matco trucks and a Snapon on truck that work out of the same complex. I need to get those guys keys to the beer fridge.

Finally got everything moved in, and found a few minutes to get one shelf up some of the vehicles parked. Had to get the fusion finished, so didn't have time to do anything else.

Next up, running some air lines and building some shelves.

The one set of shelves.

And here is a shot of the vehicles, for scale. It is nice to have room again, instead of trying to manage all of this in 1,000 Sq-ft.

Been slow going lately, but I did add one thing to the shop today.
