Not realy a rant, Just expressing a desire to not be pontificated to about Extreamly expensive hand tools that I cant afford. Ive noticed that when you post on these forums if you say anything negative about Snap on you get bushwhacked by a bunch of guys that are probably salesmen. But I digress. It seems like in the process of trying not to talk about certain things I wound up doing it anyways. I wonder how many people on here collect tools just for the sake of having them? My brother does that, he just sits and polishes them, never uses them for anything he just has them. My goal was to get some people who have used SK tools to respond to this thread. SOme onesaid that without pics the thread was worthless. What were they gonna do sit there and jerk it to pics of tools? Check this out, I used Craftsman, huskey, kobalt for years. Yes they frustrate me some times, they break and strip out fasteners but I earned a living with that Chinese **** for years. That is why I know so much about those good mid grade home owner tools. Those tools put food on my table. SO now I get a chance to buy some good proffesional made tools and want to avoid talking about what I could not afford to buy and I get a rash of **** from people who either want pics (why? just go online and look up the product) People who dont know **** about their warranty, or people who insist on getting offended that I refuse to spend 100 bucks on a dead blow hammer like they did. If I bought a 100$ hammer when I could have got one for 50 that would have lasted me forever then that is 50$ in food or clothes off my young child's back. Ive had to listen to other mechanics and technicians call my tools **** for years now. But I always get the last laugh as I watch them drop acetylene torches and catch the gas on fire while freaking out and making an *** out of themselves. Or one of my supervisers telling me to torque something then back it off to the next castleation when any tech worth a damn knows to shim or try another washer. Oh and the best thing I ever saw was someone break a 1/2 inch wrench while using a 3 foot cheater pipe and calling the tool a POS. So with some good tools now my job will be so much more satisfying. I love my Irwine channel locks, my knipex cutters. Most of my old craftsman tools are serviceable and work well. I hate my huskey pliers and always have, I didnt like my craftsman pliers all that much. However these SK tools are gonna be great, I got a good feeling about this. This was a rant By the way.
