It's not a Snapon or a Harbor Freight 44". Nope it's a DELL.
The wifes old desktop was long past being useful and she told me to get rid of it.
I yanked out the HD, DVD, memory and various fans and switches. Then was faced with what to do with the rest. I decided I needed a new box for carrying some tools when going to the local pick and pull.
I drilled out some rivets and took her apart.

Cutting the hinge.

Forming the lip for the top lid to overlap. No fancy sheet metal rollers, just hammer and chisel.
.
The finished box.

Should serve me well many more years then the actual computer did and saves another item from the landfill.
While I can't remember what I paid for that Dell several years ago. I know I could have bought 2 or 3 44's.
Notice the Windows XP Sticker. I plan on leaving it.
