My new workbench top

We ended up with some extra Brizilan Cherry solid wood flooring that was going to go in the trash...so this is what I did my only issue is I now need cutting boards to use on the bench and have already scrached it...o-well it was trash to start!

I think working on it will make only look better. Adds some character!

Like the idea on the clamps and pipe for holders.

I think it looks great.

I stained and varnished my benches (some of them were new butcher block, one was an old solid-core door, the rest were in-between) and I got hit with the same dilemma. If it looks nice, you worry about working on it -- which is crazy.

I put some rubber mat on mine -- but it's really there for dripping liquids more than preserving the stain and varnish. If my workbench looks like a dining room table, it's a good sign that I'm doing something wrong. I think the scratches and dents will continue to add character.

Love the color. Gouges, scratches, and stains add character as well as preserve memories.

What a coincidence. My father has like a thousand square feet of brazilian cherry stacked up in his workshop. I'm going to have to get him to give me some.

ur right it looks like an old cherokee but its a PU. not mine out of a calender. Im kinda addicted to jeeps its one of about 75 pics of jeeps in the garage. Also have an old Willys PU tailgate in the pick and a CJ grill hanging up.
