A few years back,I had some old metal lawn chairs that I painted turquoise and cream color...like a '55 Chevy. They looked pretty sweet, maybe that would work on the 'fridge....add an old crossed flag Chevy emblem....

I fell in love with the fridge they had on History Channels "American Restoration."

It was a Kelvinator that they brought back to life and painted it that classic 1957 Chevy Bel Air blue.

Those old fridges must cost and arm and a leg to oiperate? They do look cool!

They really are not that bad if you take the time to go through them and redo the insulation and make sure the door gaskets are in good shape ( either originals or replace them ) . There are several companies out there restoring these and most of them will even put modern guts in them ( compressor and such ) so they are pretty much just like a new fridge as far as eating energy.

Actually, since these old things are manual defrost, as long as the insulation is still good and the system is charged and working properly, they actually use LESS juice than new fridges do!

I've got a 1947 frigidaire in MINT condition I'm trying to get recharged.

If you have a chance, go to www.craigerator.com and check out his film kits for old fridges. Real cool films that are applied to the whole refridgerator.
I crapped when I saw them; soo cool. Nice score dude!
