My Old/New Shops

I joined the Journal a couple of weeks ago looking for flooring ideas. I have read most of the articles on epoxy now (man there is some serious information on this site), so I thought I would post some pictures of my old shop. This is an attached 24 x 30 garage, we have sensed moved and are building a detached 40 x 24.

Both shops are very nice! Way to utilize your land. As far as price on flooring, a buddy of mine does concrete work on the side and he told me it would be about $3 per sq. ft. to sand and finish it. I don't know when the best time to do it would be. If you do it before you get a lot of stuff in there, then it's much easier. But if you aren't sure if you are even going to put anything on it, you can always go back and do it later and use the money for something else.

Man, putting those walls up while standing on those ladders does not look like fun.

Thanks for the kind words... We plan to use 1/2 of the shop for the CNC Mills and Lathe and the other 1/2 for CNC Plasma Cutting/Painting. Using GOLF curtains (we found on eBay) we can partition things off to maximize space. Everything in the shop will be on wheels, except the big heavy stuff, so it can be moved and reorganized based on the current project.

Next up: garage doors, electrical and sheet-rock. I'll post pictures as the progress moves on.

(Yes, the cuties are my little helpers... LOL)

GOLF curtains? Never heard of them, but I'm looking for an easy way of containing dust from grinding...got any pics of them?

GOFF Curtain, not GOLF curtains(my bad) These are great for welding, griding and painting.

I know that it had to be done, but as deep as that foundation was on the hillside, it was too bad that you couldn't have utilized the space instead of having to backfill. It's costly enough on a 3' deep footer to backfill it, let alone backfilling around 7' or so. As far as the shop goes though

It looks like you could have made a 2 story garage for as deep as that foundation is.
