I've had this for years and I figured you guys would appreciate it like I do.

The story goes like this...

My grandfather built his and my great grandfathers homes next door to each other in the mid 70's. Great grandpa died almost immediately after the houses were finished. Grandpa made it to '83...and this box was in the pole barn until 2005 when grandma died. Somehow, it made it to my garage even though I have a few other male cousins and uncles...since I was grandmas favorite, I got the box :)

And here it is, a Montgomery wards powr-kraft...

Awesome box, fairly uncommon to see one of the store brand boxes in good condition! What's the deal with the "boost is better" sticker???

My stepdad has a PowrKraft box that he's had since the 80's filled with PowerKraft tools (which are nice tools).

Great story!

Nice box that was made by Remline I believe. They used to stamp a 2 digit date behind the badges that might interest you on the manufactured date.

Enjoy, they're well made boxes.

I've had it for about 7 years, and now I bought a bigger box. I'm keeping this one, and thinking about stripping it down and refinishing it.

Not sure, I like the worn finish. Nothing in the garage is super nice anyways

The boost is better sticker is a throwback from a car I had years ago. Friends kept trying to tell me that NA was the way to go. Some 400hp out of a 1.6L civic Si later...I think I made the right choice with turbocharging it :)

That's a beauty. My dad has all of his dad's tool boxes. By the time they come to me, I'll have to get rid of most the stuff I bought over the years.

Might get some flack here... but then again there are plenty of boost guys around too!

Definitely a Remline rebadged by Montgomery Ward. Nice one, and nice story.

I inherited this same Tool Box Outfit from my Dad. I am having a problem opening the Base Unit Drawers. The small top left drawer is open (and will not fully close) but I can not get any other Base Drawers open. Can you, or anyone else with Montgomery Ward Power Kraft Mechanical Rolling Tool Cart knowledge, tell me how to open the Base Unit Drawers. The very bottom storage area is unlocked and open./Cathy.

I have the bottom box in the Remline version. The sides on mine are black, not grey like yours. I really like it and it is very sturdy. I'd love to find a top box. Maybe one of these days...
