Ok, I GOTTA ask: What's a "Kydex"??!!

Plastic material used for making sheaths and holsters and such. I started making knife sheaths a little over a year ago. Heat the plastic up and form it around the object. Then place rivets (eyelets) where needed and shape.
Almost all the work I do in the garage is either related to my Yota or "melting" plastic. lol

Excellent job with the space gp_frk. I too come from the land of 1 car garages, it's a challenge but us renters sometimes have to make due!

A big +1 from me on that tailgate idea. Really, really cool. Now the authorities will be able to put two and two together as to why all the tailgates from trucks have started to disappear around the world.

For the past 6 months I've had belt sander belts just sitting on the shelf with all the other clutter. Friday I moved them to the new cabinet I built but with all the other tools in there I did not want to risk them getting crushed and have to toss them because of that. So i figured I'd make their own hanger for them to get them out of the way. This is the side of the cabinet underneath the drill press.

Everything I used was stuff I had lying around in spare parts boxes. The round "dowels" are old HF drum sanding mandrels. Piece of 1/8" flat stock and a few bolts and screws. The spring is off a Toyota clutch arm :D
I'm going to add some storage for flap disc and skinny wheels tonight and clean up the edges on the 1/8". All in all I'm happy with my 20 minute distraction. LOL

Finished up my consumables storage last night. Cleaned up the flat bar for the tensioner and installed some 3/8 rod for grinding discs.

This weekend I will be filling in cracks/sanding the surface of the cabinet and start painting it.

Great use of space and like the others I love the tailgate Idea. I will be moving soon and will likely set the same deal up. I'm a chevy guy though so I will watch for a good used older tailgate!

Got the cabinet painted up and added a power strip to the side for easy access since the plug is centered behind the box. I will be tidying up the wires and such this weekend.

So this weekend was another large step forward in the "get **** off the floor in my too small a shop crusade".
You can kind of see my old attic access in the right of this pic.

Its the old school "break your back while leaning backwards off the ladder pushing what you want ahead of you through the too small a hole hacked into the ceiling" attic access.
A buddy of mine who is a contractor had a client refuse to let him put in an aluminum ship stair type attic access and made him take it out and put in a wooden ladder one instead :)wtf:) so I ended up with this one at zero cost to me.

This is going to allow me to get the rest of the bulk "****" that is taking up valuable floor space out of my way. And free up a BUNCH of closet space with all my wife's holiday "stuff".
