Hello! I've been a long time lurker gathering info and just browsing the incredible amount knowledge and generosity this forum seems to offer! I've been renting garages for years and finally found myself in a position where I could finally build my own and not have to travel to work on projects! :rocker:
After browsing through here I always read that people wish the would have went bigger. So my plans quickly changed once I began measuring things. I'm a big oldschool water cooled vw fan. My intension was to build a 20x36 space in my yard but after measuring the scirocco and the touareg I decided that just wasn't goin to be a space I'd be happy with. I finally measured everything length of the cars width doors open ect. I then bought drafting paper and layed each one out to scale to determine a final size of 36x36x14'4" The height measurement came from looking up future lift plans. I am quite happy with how it worked out and am beyond stoked to finally have a place to call mine! Constructive critism is welcomed! Its a work in progress but I have a lifetime to make it my own! I couldn't believe how many hoops my township made me jump through to erect this thing though!

As the summer progressed and the concrete cured 90 days as recomended I epoxied the floor let it dry and brought the projects home outa storage. 86 scirocco with a 6cyl swap and a 88 rabbit convertable for the wife with a 1.8t swap :3gears: don't mind the big stupid wheels on the scirocco they were for transporting purposes.

Sweet creeper, is that a classic Powell Peralta bones board? I spy truck guards and possibly a nose guard, do you have rails and a tail guard on it too? That's gotta be late 80's early 90's.
Oh and congratulations on the new shop

Well first Of all, welcome to The Garage Journal. Great looking shop and nice looking rides! I still have my '82 VW Rabbit pick up. Been sitting....high and dry.... since 1991 but I still got it!

Casual,

I am in 19520. When you get farther along perhaps you would like to swing by my shed and check out some LED lighting before you pull the trigger on the T5's...
