Should be up by then anyhow right?

I got woken up today to a Caterpillar D5 dozing the yard for the house next to mine.

I get home around midnight from work so I try to sleep in till 7-7:30 at least.

It's ok. When people complain about noise I tell them to FAWK OFF. They know I work at night (some weeks a 6PM-6AM shift) and I swear make noise just for that reason.

I got home and there was a landscape guy running a jackhammer in my neighbors yard. Tommorow The city is going to rip out a chunck of street in front of my drivway to replace a a main gas line for the same neighbor.

I get home at 7:30 AM and just need a few hours. But Geesh two days in a row.

I may just have to sleep at the plant tonight.

For the bird a .22 sub sonic will do the trick. Won't work on the jackhammer guy. I think there is a law protecting him. Try ear plugs, or sleep at work.

I use to work the midnight shift and share a house with a bunch of other guys.
One guy would blast his stereo 24/7 and tell me to F*CK OFF, when I would ask him to lower the volume.
I finally removed the fuses in his stereo receiver, and the jackass was too stupid to "fix" the problem?

The woodpecker on the metal building is a seasonal mating thing. They like to make as much noise as possible to attract a mate. Same thing happened to me. I had a thermometer on my fence, and every morning at dawn, the woodpecker would be there, DING DING DING DING DING! It was so bad one morning I stormed across the yard with my robe, doing the full-on crazy old man yelling at the wildlife routine. I was probably still in my 20s, lol.

The good news: it will stop soon. He will either find a mate, or give up.

Take a Benadryl and a large glass of water 1/2 before you hit the sack - you won't hear a thing

Work too hard. My wife was bellyaching about the Crows on Sunday morning, I never heard a thing!

Yeah usually I don't wake up, I am a VERY heavy sleeper.

Firealarms don't wake me up... moving me around, whatever... not going to do it.

I have even slept through 2 fires (as in I was carried out 1 time by my parent's and 1 time by fire fighters)

Jay has it right.
I had one that was pecking on my gutter.
It made a pretty good gong.

It is the old "The louder I am, the bigger I am" idea.
You can here any day in the "boom boom" cars.
Once he finds a female with a brain the size of his he will be gone.

IF that's a red cockaded woodpecker, you better leave it the hell alone.

I used to have a bird peck at itself in a tinted window on my room. On the window sill I put a series of sticky mouse traps. Before long he stepped right in there and that was it. No broken glass trying to shoot his A$$

Had a similar bird problem and took care of it the man-way...:shoot5:

Wounded the *******; gave it to the cats who played with it a while before they decided it would be a tasty meal...
