........at this vary second I can't afford to finish the inside of the shop.......as far as insulating the walls and trying to seal them up.

So........has anybody here used like the foam from can to fill in the ribs on the sheet metal just around the bottom of the shop?

The sheet metal is sitting on trim that runs around the bottom base board.

Anyways any input on what you guys have done?

Thanks for your time.

Spray foam will work but it may make a mess if it oozes to the outside. They make inside closeur for just this application. You can back out the screws and slip it in and replace the screws very slowley so they don't strip out. If you are trying to stop drafts stuff in some insulation for a quick fix.

Could you post a picture from the inside? I'm having a hard time seeing what they have done at the bottom of the sheet metal...... a lot of people here run the sheet metal long extending down past the slab to keep moisture from coming in under the plate. And be careful what kind of insulation you use.....stay away from anything that will "wick" moisture from the outside to the inside.

I put pieces of steel wool inside the ridge, then inject the expanding foam in that- the steel wool will deter rodents chewing through. I know it's not 100%, because I still have sliding doors, but it is better than nothing.

My siding sits tight against that wedge shaped trim piece at the bottom so there are no gaps to the outside for mice to get in. I will be having the entire roof and siding sprayed with 2" of closed cell foam.

I went around the entire base of mine with cans of spray foam. Nothing oozed out.
