My power washer would not start because I left my power washer for a year in my garage with gas sitting in the tank. What i did is drained the tank, then removed the gas line that feeds the gas from the tank to the engine, replaced the gas line, removed the spark plug, filled the hole where the spard plug sits with gas replaced the spark plug, and then pulled the rope about six times until the carburator spit out all the gas that I placed in the spark plug chamber and finally the engine started.

Any chance it is a briggs and stratton? I have one and the thing usually starts but it is nearly impossible to start again once you stop it. For some reason the carb stays open and you have to manually hold it closed to start it again. Until it cools down and then it can be started again.
