Trying to get ready to pull the trigger here, but a few things I'm trying to think through....

1) The plan for my 32' deep x 26' wide garage is a field of black diamond solid. Then a 2' perimeter x 20' of red free flow, with the center of it being 4' wide free flow also. I'd fill that field with diamond layout of black and graphite, just to give it some visual appeal. My thought is any ice/snow/rain melt will hit the free flow and dissipate.

2) I question my logic on solid under the cars vs free flow there as well in the checkerboard. Reasoning for would be to aid in getting rid of any moisture. Con on that is any drips would go down to the concrete and harder to clean any mess under it up. While I really like the look of the free flow, I know my garage and I do some wood working and I think I'd just have a mess all the time? The other con would be I think adding the pattern with free flow would start to get to be too much visually.

3) I plan on adding Shock Tower to a majority of the floor. I'm not sure how much it actually helps, I've heard some anti-fatigue, I've heard not much. I have heard it really helps on noise?! A large reason I want the tiles and especially the shock towers is I don't have the best knees and just can't keep doing the hard concrete. I currently have a mismatch of rugs and mats and they look bad, but give me some break. SOOO....is it worth saving the almost $1 per tile around the perimeter and just going non shock there? I figure it's about $200 give or take. I thought about leaving out of the under car(s) checkerboard, but one side I do get on a lot because that's the side with my 4 post. So thoughts there???

4) I hear with the shock towers sound is cut down drastically as well, which is why landscape fabric is used by a lot of people. Would I still want to use that if the majority of my floor has the shock towers? If so, is it still good idea to run the fabric under the free flow?

5) I have a dished out area, maybe up to 1" where my circular floor drain is. I'll have to bring that to level. Any recommendations on material for that? My first thought is self leveling cement. But maybe there's a better solution. I do have a contact with Quikrete, so I'll see if he has a recommendation there. I'll try to lay my level across and snap a pic.

Attached is a basic layout I'm considering. The mocha tile would actually be black without shock...just wanted to get an idea for how much tile I need of each.

Lastly, I'm debating if I leave the parking areas equal as they are or if I stretch the one on the right back about 8' more so going back under the lift fully. As it is, my lift sits towards the back of the space.
