l just wanted to post up my ratchets. i've had the craftsman 1/2" non premium ratchet for almost 15 years along with the goodwrench 1/4". the husky pro indexable for about 6 years, the gearless ratchets for 2 and i just bought the craftsman premiums yesterday :D. nothing special i know, these are just for diy work on my cars. i've never needed anything else, i've even used a cheater bar on the 3/8" gearless :scared:. i bought the new ratchets because they were on sale .

Nice little grouping!

The Craftsman ratchets get r done. I think the indexable ratchet is something I should try out, and I'm impressed with the new premium ergo rats. Very nice!

I would expect the new ratchets, to be smooth with minimal drag. Could you post a description of how they feel. Maybe compare them to the other ratchets you have. I would like think a good ratchet could be purchased from Sears.

thanks for the reply.

the indexable feature comes in handy every now and then and i can get some good torque on it with the long handle.

BFH there is some light drag on the new ratchets, especially the half inch but nothing major. the other 1/2" ratchet in the picture had a lot of drag until i greased it, WOW what a difference after grease!!

i don't have an allen wrench small enough to remove the cover on the new ratchets, but after i get one i'll add some lube and report any improvement.

Be wary of using grease on high tooth count ratchets as they tend to stick which may cause lockup and auto reversal. The Cman ratchets come lubed from the factory and you can see it come out of the switch selector as you move it back and forth, esp. on the 1/2 drive.
