I have about $525 in coating my garage floor. But if it last, then money well spent. When I sold my last house, having the garage floor painted helped, because I had a few realtors compliment the floor and asked me who did the work....
Garage is a 22ft x 25ft, concrete poured in 2007
Floor Prep:
1) Pressure washed.
2) Then scrubbed 1 gallon of 20% muriatic acid to acid etch.
3) Pressure washed again.
4) Let concrete dry for 5 days.
5) Used 2" blue mastic tape for the edges.
Epoxy: (be sure to wear respirator)
I bought 4 kits, and used 2 kits per coat with no thinner. Came out near perfect with very little left over.
1) Mixed 2 kits of the epoxy and converter into 5 gallon bucket with a paint stirrer on my drill.
2) Used 2.5in brush for the walls and edges, then rolled with 9" roller.
3) Waited 24 hrs. before laying down my second coat. Same as above for second coat, except I added 1 container of anti-skid. I painted 4ft sections across the garage floor, then apply chips, paint and apply chips, etc. and continue on till I was finished.
4) Waited 24hrs again, then put clear on top. I mixed 2 kits of the clear and used 1.75 of the two kits. The clear was hard to put down because you can't really see where you had applied and hadn't applied it. There ended up being one place I need to go back and touch up with clear.
5) Waited 24hrs again before removing the blue mastic tape.
All in all it turned out really well.
