Small ratcheting ball drivers.

Someone was asking about small EASYDRIVER balls and bits. About 1 inch in diameter, great for decent torque inside computers and appliances.
Here's my small set.

I mistakenly got my hands on a few of the marked down Craftsman ball grip drivers, thinking they ratcheted. How often do you use the ratcheting motion?

Alright, I don't have any ball grip ratcheting screwdrivers which is why I asked what I asked. I thought for some reason they could locked into place and be turned without the ratcheting motion (maybe I was thinking of a different, obsolete brand?) but after looking at your reaction... oops?

I have an EasyDriver as well and I have to say I kinda like the ratcheting motion for quick easy to drive things, but under a great deal of load I don't think it'd work so well.

Actually, they are quite strong for a plastic mechanism. I torque on mine pretty good day after day, and they last for a fairly long time.

Here's a view of an old one I cut in half. Three sets of pawls with like 7 teeth each. All together it's a sizable amount of interface per click.
