Well...I am a Materials Analysis Engineer; I analyze semiconductor failures using high tech geeky equipment.

But, I've been swinging a hammer since I was...oh...perhaps 5 years old :)

2 gigs burgie, the safety goggles box is upsidedown and mini vicegrips for a boombox antena - well that's just too much.

You are one organized guy for sure.

Thanks Steve...

Ya...usually I use the kids old boombox just to play my CD's...but one day I felt like listening to the radio and the reception was horrible. Nothing a small pair of Vise-Grips wouldn't handle :) :)

Thanks for the nice words fellas!!!

A couple of other details I noticed was 1.) a set of turning chisels but no wood lathe and 2.) the angle brackets (left of the dust pan below the bench) for hanging items up. Are these something you fabricated? What are they intended for - I ask because I'm guessing something similar would work well for orginizing my space better. No, I will probably never get to the uncluttered state you are at, not even close. I only dream of such tidyness but I can make some improvements by hanging more on the walls until I run out of room.

Steve,

When I lived in NH I had my dad's Delta lathe...but left it back in his shop when I moved to CO. I hope to buy a used Delta lathe on craigslist or ebay sometime in the fuure.

The aluminum fixtures I made. They are thick wall angle aluminum with slots milled into one side. I am going to mount them on the sides of my tool boxes and use them to hold my longer tools such as my 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" drive socket extensions.

My garage is about 22' x 20' and way too small to house everything...but for now it's all I have. I want to build a nice 28' x 44' shop in my back yard one of these days when I can afford it...

Nice Job !!!

It's funny how much people have a garage/shop as a hobby and work in a totaly different area in their day to day life.

I am a programmer/IT tech and I would spend my week-ends working in the garage. My dad was a car mechanic and I was exposed to that young.
I guess it might come from there or it's just a guy thing ! :O)

Thanks for all the nice comments folks!! Yea...I am a ******** Pats fan and riding the recent wave of success. But I do remember cheering thru many 1-15, 2-14 or 3-13 seasons ...so I'm smiling while I can because as you all should know...team success in any sport is very hard to maintain...

Don...I actually have more clamps...just no more reachable wall space. If my business goes well and I can make some $$ above and beyond what is necessary to pay the biulls I want to build that larger shop out back...but I'll have to wait and see...

Man, that is one organized work space. The big thing is that it is actually work space and not just a den. Keeping a work area so clean is a real ******. Good luck in your new venture. Sounds like it is something not too common but there will more than likely be a demand for it once people realize it isn't just straight pieces of wood.
