A guy I know salvaged a bunch of terra cotta figures from old buildings being torn down back in the 1980's in New York. He made me copies of them out of concrete. They are custom formed for the size I wanted. If you look close you will see late 1800's salvaged decorative bricks worked in here and there that I got from a brick collector (never knew there was such a thing as a brick collector). Dave

Does he sell them? I wouldn't mind having one or two of the one above your middle door!

WOW!!! You need carriage doors now, or put panels on your rollup doors to make them look like carriage doors.

Thanks for all the compliments. I would like to do something with the doors to make them look older but probably will just paint them for now when spring arrives. The wood doors suggested where just what I had in mind when I recover from this phase of the project.

I recently saw an overhead door painted to look like carriage doors. Turned out pretty nicely. I'm going to give it a try on mine this Spring when the weather warms up some.

There's been a construction boom in NW AR for the last few years. French county has been the most popular look for residential and they've been putting on these modern garage doors that look like carriage doors. They have veneer trim and fake hardware to dress them up like carriage doors. Maybe you could do that along with paint to dress up your doors. Weight and clearance might be an issue though.

Painting fake carriage doors

I'd like to try painting them to look like carriage doors but I have my doubts in my ability to pull it off. Anybody got any pics of a painted one that turned out good? For sure it appeals to my inner cheapskate. It would be very cool if I could get it to look right. The real deal seems very expensive but looks great.

Well, I've seen them do rollup doors on 'This Old House' that look like carriage doors. That one house they bought and built themselves had them on it as I recall, might go to their website......

I remember that episode. Those doors were amazing looking, as was the price tag. If I remeber correctly they had to have something like a 15 hp (slight exageration) door opener because they were so heavy.

By the way - Stang - I'm still waiting for my first nice vehicle since getting married. This year will be 13 years, and every time we get a new vehicle, my wife somehow manages to get it.

At first, I thought the brick was the before and the metal building was the after! I thought I might have to hunt you down and beat the daylights out of you! But, I see now, that the brick is the after, and I must say, it is quite stunning! It will surely give a great first impression to your customers!

The coral tech stuff looks interesting, but the door dekor? Big refrigerator magnets? I'd have so much fun moving them around on people's doors if I saw one of those locally! :D
Kinda cheesy magnets for a garage door but might look way cool on a really big refrigerator.
