I've been a lurker here for several years, I've gotton a lot of ideas that I used when I redid my garage kast year, I figured I should finally post up a few pictures of my garage space.

I notice the Pontiac sign in one pic and what appears to be an engine block pained Pontiac blue under the bench in another. Whatcha workin' on?

Working on a 1980 trans am, pulled the little 301 and dropped in a built 400, almost finished with the mechanicals, just need to do the body and paint. The block in the corner is a 455 I picked up after I had finished the 400, need to find another TA to drop it into!

I've got a '69 GTO and '95 Formula. Have had a few other old Ponchos along the way. I have had a fever for a 2nd gen TA for a long time now.

Please start a thread about your TA project when you feel so inclined.

A little constructive criticism? The floor detracts from this otherwise pretty immaculate garage. Looks to have quite a bit of oil spillage on it. Racedeck would look great, but costly. The large gray roll out pads sold by Costco would be cheaper, Armstrong vinyl and tile ala Jack Olsen would also be much cheaper, but of course more work. Minor point: a couple of display shelves over those windows would be a nice touch.

Thanks for the kind words guys. I have added some stuff to the walls since these pics were taken, I have a friend who does vinyl stickers and he made me a few things to put up. I'm really undecided on the floor, since I live in northern iowa, it gets really cold up here and the floor is wet with snow from november to april, just have never found anything that I was confident enough in to try that didn't break the bank.

has lots of potential. get rid of the light bulbs & put in some 4 ft or 8 ft flourescent fixtures. pain tthe floor afterwords & your garage will look 100 Xs better.

I think Andrew is giving great advice about the lighting. Rows of fluorescents will give you a crazy amount of light and they are really not very expensive to buy.

As for the floor, mine os only bare concrete, too. But from what I have read on here the epoxy kits provide an amazing result without spending a fortune. The only thing is you have to do lots of cleaning/etching before you can apply the epoxy, and I am just not motivated enough to do all that.

Bull beat me to the Pontiac sign/blue block observation, but kudos for your appreciation of some now defunct american history.

I grew up in a late 70's/early 80's Pontiac parts department. Lots of great memories there. Somehow I ended up back in the same department, but doing a wind down of the brand. It's painfull seeing it go away.

I hope you do a thread on your project. Even the younger guys here (I'm SURE) would really enjoy it.

Also, btw, nicely done space for sure
