My slow going build...

This project started out as a refurbish to an old decrepit barn / garage.

I need a new home for the toys

but that idea flew out the window pretty quick and in its place came...

Fist we had to get rid of The BIG OAK (sadly it had great shade)

It was infested with carpenter ants so drop it we did...

YES it was on purpose to crush the old barn. trying to save the pad.
But then I decided to move the whole thing off to the side, After I pulled the permits for a rehab and demolition. dooooh.

A month Later still picking up the pieces

Finally my contractor shows up with his excavator, he a bit young but oh so enthusiastic

almost clean

Fast forward a few more weeks...
Footing and Foundation are done Did a 4000# concrete floor so I can easily bolt down a two post lift. I wish I insulated and did radiant heat but didnt.
Contruction of the walls begin

Call me crazy, but i really liked the original building. It had character. Was it too far gone to save? The roof seems like it was sagging in the middle.

The roof was toast and walls were all rotted at the base, between the squirrels and the ants the only thing salvageable was the slab and the was not it the best shape either. Plus it really made the yard much smaller.
