Hey all! I just joined this forum after coming across this thread while hunting for information on the tools I inherited from my Grandfather. I got them about 10 years ago, but just haven't been able to get myself to go through everything until recently which is when I realized how many cool 1/4" bits I had.
Below you will find the incomplete, but very cool, Snap-On KRA-275 1/4" socket set that I am trying to find all the bits for. I just cleaned it up and rebuilt the ratchet this week (props to Snap-On - they honored the warranty and not only sent me a free rebuild kit for the TM70A in the photo, but also replaced another wrench with a brand new GT72 because they no longer produce rebuild kits for it). I am really sentimental about this kit as it sat on his workbench as far back as I can remember and he really used the heck out of it and I remember playing with it a lot when I was a kid because it was "my size".
I have a feeling he probably picked this up second-hand before I was born as he mainly purchased Craftsman tools and wasn't really known for buying high-end equipment. I'm going to try and find the rest of the missing bits online and at flea markets and such and maybe trade any of the other old hand tools I have for them as well. It would be cool to see this one complete someday.
As for the other 1/4" items, there were also some pretty cool MAC swivel sockets, what seems to be a brand new S-K tools set, a powr kraft driver, a nice Walden ratchet, 3 very old husky sockets, a handful of MTSC Bonney sockets, and an assortment of Craftsman sockets as well.
I think this is the complete list of what I have (other than the snap-on set):
MAC - 6” M6E extension, 11/32 MD116, 7/16 MD146, 9/16 mu186, 1/2 Mu166,7/16 Mu146, 3/8 mu126, 5/16 mu106
Husky - 3/8 h3608, 5/16 h3607, 9/32 h3601, 1/4 h3600
MTSC Bonney - 1/2 v16, 7/16 v14, 3/8 v12 , 11/32 v11 , 5/16 v10, 1/4 v8, 7/32 v7, 3/16 v6
Snap-On TM60 USA 8(or B?) 6” extension
Walden 3150 socket wrench
S-K Tools 1/4 Socket set
*New* Snap-on GT72 1/4 socket wrench
All-in-all it's a very fun, but random, assortment of 1/4" tools. It has me excited to go through it all - I know there are some old wood planes, screwdrivers, wrenches, and other random stuff. Hopefully there are a few more gems.
If anyone know of anywhere where these are available for a reasonable price or in trade for the items above, the known missing pieces for the Snap-On set are:
TM4S (socket driver) maybe TM4A?
TM67A (thumb ratchet?)
TMS70 (thumb screw?)
TMX4 (4" extension)
STM6-16 sockets (except for 12 and 10, which I found while digging around today)
TM15 socket
TM13 socket
