Those are dissapointing, you should probably send them to me so you don't have to worry about the missing pieces....

I know this thread isn't for single pieces but thought these might fit. P&C made a 1/4" electrical set in 1929, I only have the ratchet.

That ratchet is pretty cool for being so old and having a such a small diameter head. Does it have a model no.?

They didn't stamp numbers on the tools back then but the catalog gives it a 0250#. I think this example is actually earlier than 1929 because of the very round head.
Hey Smoke, I didn't make it to the Canby swap, most of my tools come from garage and estate sales. Some from friends........ The tool tour sounds good, sometime this spring.

Some of you may remember this Duro reefer set from a Whatzit thread in early January. I couldn't resist it! Here it is cleaned-up with all the extras removed. I have also posted a lot more information on the set, additional photos of the set and pieces, and many catalog excerpts at the end of the Duro thread, posts #778, #779, and #780, linked here.

As I posted on the Plomb thread, Tin Medic generously sent me his almost complete Navy NAF Plomb 1/4” drive set. I had previously traded bmwrd0 for the missing socket and one other so as soon as it arrived, I completed the set and took some pictures. I had previously found a NAF partial set but none of the tools in it were NAF marked. Here are some pictures of both sets together.

I know I've commented on this set before.....It's just super nice...

Not really fan of the plastic box, but it's still a cool and NOS looking vintage set. I would had had a hard time passing on it as well...

And you...well you just ****!...and I mean that in the nicest way possible. I've only seen two of these sets in pics...and you have them both...

My meager contribution, a Dresser Industries era Kraeuter set.

Beautiful set and S-K quality. Now about that ratchet handle design. Built for looks, not for comfort. Ask me how I know. Thanks for the nice “You ****”.

The handle does look stylish, but I don't think I'd be too happy using one for any length of time. Let's hear your story...:)

BTW, this is the first breaker bar I've seen in this particular style....pretty cool...

There’s not that much of a story really. Those reside in my modern toolbox and after trying the ratchet out on a job one time I now always grab an S-K roundhead or my shorty Cornwell. Comfort is important.

A big thanks to Lugz for allowing me to acquire this WWII era Williams 1285P set from his minty NOS stash.....

Since this is an original non-used set, I won't be cleaning off the old grease. I'll just keep the set as is.

Don, is that a 1/4 or 3/8 breaker? I have triplets of the ratchets, but I've only been able to find 3/8 breakers..
Thanks!

This was my Dad's set (rip). It's SK made in USA. The paper that fits in lid says Junior Johnson edition. I'm not sure when Dad bought it, 60's is my guess.a3a454bcb55c904e7359d3c37a2ef0a0.jpg1aa05f38d21f530bf6d95b977f1a742e.jpge1d617c4136262f3adc849f45105495e.jpg

It's 3/8" and the only one I've seen. Sorry to sneak it into the 1/4" thread.
-Don

No worries! As long as it took us to find the 1/4 ratchets, I was getting ready to pound my head on the table thinking about the search for the breaker :wtf:

As I posted on the S-K thread, here is a small S-K wartime set that arrived yesterday from an eBay seller.

Well...you know, meager compared to those Plomb NAF sets..:)

The socket sizes as follows:

1/2, 7/16, 5/16 (8pt.), 3/8, 11/32, 1/4 (8pt.), 5/16, 9/32, 1/4, 7/32 and 3/16

And if you need it, the model no. for the 2" extension is 31061

Thanks for prompting me take an inventory, otherwise I wouldn't have noticed that the 6" extension in my set was actually a nice extra. Must be getting old...:willy_nil

Good luck with your search to find the missing pieces.....

Picked up another set of mystery sockets today, but this time, not so mysterious. Sadly, there was a 1/2" set there as well with the same logo on the box, but I left it for $50, and took the tools for $5. Ironic since there was a taco cart there for $37.50!!!! No, I already have 2 so I didn't grab it......plus, it's been outside in the weather for a while cc29e0b533cc171dbdf51f564d157f8f.jpgfc68c6c7bd73bc709d9c79947c9a4969.jpg8485b39d2a35308040e4a79c8dd23259.jpg

Some vintage Thorsen goodness.

I picked up this 1/4" socket set recently. I thought it was interesting for the box to be finished in crinkle red instead of green. The smallest sockets in this set also caught my eye because I haven't seen these tapered style sockets in any of the 1/4" sets before. The tapered sockets are all marked with X suffix model numbers.

Plenty. Here is a 1/2” drive ratchet by yet another supplier.
