Wow. I have never one of those combination "alligator" wrench and feeler gauge jobbies in a Firestone set before. Is that marked Firestone? What is on the end closest to the feeler gauges? Looks like prongs, but too large to be a points bender.

The ignition tool is marked as Firestone and is an add on piece that I originally had in an old Indestro set. Thought this set was a better home for it. The feeler gauge end is indeed pronged.

Art Craft, with big brother:

Intrestingly, the sockets and drive tools, other than the ratchet, are only marked Alloy USA P12xx (or R16xx). Still working on finding all the right sockets for either of them.

I have a few of those sets, one is rugged tools, a couple fleets, all with similar sockets. I think penens basically would private label them for anyone. Artcraft was pepboys I think?

Nice seeing all these sets on the same page.

Artcraft tools aren’t always marked, and the box sets are seldom seen, so that is a nice example.

No, most of the tools weren't marked. Just a Letter designation (P,R) and a set of numbers. The sockets were marked ALLOY and I had seen a lot of them over the years without knowing what they were. I have a theory about it, but at this point it is just that. The ratchet is marked though, and I have shown it before. It came from a totally different place.

I got the 1/2 box at a garage sale in the free pile. Good sale with lots of tools, just nothing I needed. But no way I was passing up that box.

Is that was those sockets are to? I have a few. Let me know what sizes you need.

Looking for a Plomb 3061 Pebble Open End.

As if the artcraft 1/4 set couldn't get better, you have another set...not easy to find!

Thanks crtdi. I thought it was an interesting set. Saw one of these craftsman sets go for crazy money on ebay recently so I went digging through my craftsman hoard and found this one...

Nice C-man sets.. Can't seem to find one for myself. I'm assuming the production timeline for these are similar to other C-man 1/4" BE sets?

Mine is on the early side of be, as the sizes are notated with a dash and no long c. I think they should match the normal be timeline.

They are shown in with the sets in the ‘42 catalog. Mine must be a little newer than OTG’s since mine have the / and the sockets came in the holder when my wife found them in 2017.

That's a cool socket rack. They were available in both 1/4" and 3/8" drive. The rack was patented by William F. Costello, the same guy that patented the 1/2" drive ratchet for New Britain during the sometime frame. I've yet to find a 3/8 set.

Here is a catalog image of the 3/8” drive set. I’ve never seen one.

Nice set 3bay! The only other one of those I've seen (pictures of) sold on eBay about a year ago for wayyyyy more than I was willing to pay for it. Hard to come by to say the least.

I was thinking about bidding on that set on eBay until it crossed into the Twilight Zone. $254?!?

Love everyone’s 1/4” socket sets. I will try to post some of my favorites this weekend. For starters, here is an odd set of non sparking Berylco tools. I love the little homemade box with the funny saying painted on the lid. Enjoy and let’s keep the posts coming.
