Hi,
I just found this awesome forum and I´m totally blown away by all your great garages! I´m in the middle of building another garage for my small collection which will house 8 cars. I will keep you updated here soon.
Here are two pictures of my old Cadillac garage which is too small now.
More pictures will follow soon!

You can find more than hundred pictures of the entire build on my website:

Unfortunately I was not allowed to build the garage any bigger back in 2005. I now ran out of space and had to start building a new garage 2 miles from home. Its an ongoing project and I will introduce it here soon.

The new garage
I started building in September 2012 and the construction work is still going on.
It was planned by a fellow Cadillac aficionado - thanks Clemens for your support and great help! Once finished it can hold up to 8 full-size cars. Unfortunately I can't afford to buy another car for a couple of years now...

work started on September 13th on the new property. Lots of trees and bushes had to be cut down

Thats the status of my build at the moment. Unfortunately I have some serious health issues (slipped disk) at the moment and therefore I can't continue to work on the garage over the winter :-(
I will try to do all the paint work, work on the floor and everything else hopefully next spring...

You can find much more detailed pictures of the build on my website:

Beautiful! 1967 Deville is one of my all-time favorite cars, at least appearance wise. I've never driven one.

Wow, i'm impressed!

Hope you are feeling better. I fell off my roof 4.5 years ago and broke my back - it took 2years and 2 months to recover. Keep the faith.

Very cool garage! You don't see many Cadillac fans anymore. Seeing the variety of body styles you have, I can understand the reason for liking them.

I don't want to stir the pot but... How come does your status says "banned"?

Love it. The collection is beautiful, and the new garage looks very promising. Now that I know you're in Austria, I think you're totally nuts...in a very good way of course. You should be on the TV show we have over here called "Car Crazy" which is hosted by Barry Maguire (of Maguire's car care products fame). Anyone who maintains that fleet of luxo-barges in a sea of Smart-Car-Micro-Trash deserves a great deal of credit.

Clearly a CTSV would really top off your collection in proper fashion.

Beautiful... As a fellow caddy owner ('59 series 62 convert) I know how these can swallow a normal garage. Great fleet!

LoL - I think its cool that you guys think I´m nuts! I feel honored! ;-)
Its really something to own such cars over here. You really have to be very dedicated and fanatic to deal with the various problems (mostly of financial kind...) that go with ownership of such cars ;-)
But I would not want anything else - I will always only have American cars!

@upndown - hey thats great! So you were born in the area where Gouvernor Schwarzegger originally comes from! ;-)

As I cant work at the moment I have nothing else to do than to swallow pain killers and browse through the Garage Journal - I guess I´m already addicted and I got so many great ideas from all of you.

I played around with Photoshop a little to get some design ideas for painting the exterior of the garage.
I came up with this color scheme - what do you think? (I´m not very good doing this kind of stuff on photoshop)
garage-nov12darkcolor.jpg

maybe I should change the proportions of the red bar a little more.

The garage is mostly ready for paint now - some areas need some more attention - thats how it looks today:

We had some very early snow for 3 days last week - the roof guys had to make the finishing touches in the snow:
garage-nov12IMG_2285.jpg

garage-nov12IMG_2309.jpg

garage-nov12IMG_2311.jpg

not funny to do this kind of work in the snow

garage-nov12_MG_8528.jpg

in the meantime my little boy enjoyed his new indoor race track ;-)

garage-nov12IMG_2305.jpg

with all the fresh humid concrete and the sudden temperature drop on the outside the garage started sweating. I had 96% humidity on the inside... I rented 3 air dryers and within 2 weeks humidity came down to 62%. Low enough to store the Roadmaster there...
When everything is finished I will install a dehumidifier in the garage to keep humidity at 50% year round.

One question to you - I need a name for the new garage!
Favorites so far are "Yacht Club" or "The Big Block"

Regarding the other buildings on the property - I would like to repair the small house next to the garage and transform it into a bar, hangout, library, parts storage building. It also has a bathroom. The building is very neglected and will need lots of work though. I temporarily fixed the worst parts of the roof already, but it also needs new windows all around and a lot of rotten wood has to be replaced.
_MG_8372.jpg

It will probably take a couple of years before I´ll restore it.
The other big wood building on the property is full of used cars and is rented out to someone so I wont use it by myself.

Those are both great possibilities. I think I give the nod to "Yacht Club". Good luck with the humidity.
