Forgot to mention on my last post but I'm also jelly of your garage queen. I've always been a euro enthusiast and driver but the NSX is the only thing that would pull me to the dark side* (JDM).

*Thought it was appropriate as your Avatar reminds me of Darth Vader :)

Hah... you will travel to the Degobah system... errr... NSXprime.com , you will then visit the NSX Marketplace where you will encounter a sub forum labeled "NSXs for Sale". You will then search until you find your segue into the JDM Galaxy..

What awaits you? Only what you take with you........

Okay, I have a couple replacement ideas for my red stripe around the garage. I would like to keep the red, but I JUST had a thought that would be more low key but exponentially cooler (maybe).

My thoughts are to buy bulk aluminum cut to order panels the same width as my existing red band of 8". I would have the strips anodized in red. I would loose the cool carbon fiber weave look, but I would at least keep my red stripe which accents the other colors. This method would also allow me to mimic the chair moulding offered by diamondlifegear.com but at a fraction of the cost.

My other thought that I JUST had, is to buy the aluminum and skin it with real carbon fiber and resin and use that as my band around my garage. More subtle yes, but wouldnt it look great?

I could also still do the red band around, then take a less tall chair moulding (maybe 5") and run that through the middle of the red band but have it with the carbon fiber skinned idea.

Many great things to come as I keep trying to think out of the box here... I recently designed a graphic in photoshop and printed it as one of my smaller pictures to hang as well as printed out a 20x30 poster of my own car which will also look great on the wall.

^ I thought I have seen colored peices of thin stamped aluminum or steel strips at Home Depot or Lowes. It looks like tread plate. That would be cool in red!

Finally hung a few pictures up, they will most likely be switched around soon. Also ordered aluminum to replace the red vinyl tape. Unsure if I want to anodize, plasti dip, or powder coat them...still red.

Okay, so far so good... I just finished my first two aluminum replacement panels for the previously used red carbon fiber adhesive vinyl. I am very happy with the results and will finish the other pieces for the back wall. Eventually I will move forward with purchasing cut aluminum panels for the sides in my quest to replace all the red vinyl.

I started with aluminum cut from eBay in the same 8" tall as the vinyl tape. Threw on several coats of red plasti dip and bazing! :rocker:

Over the weekend I hung the new backwall replacement panels. I really like the results of the red plastidip over the aluminum panels. Before the end of the summer, I'll replace both side walls and the garage door wall with the plastidip red aluminum, removing the vinyl tape that's on there now.

As you can see above, it's just a much cleaner look and no bubbling. Old stuff is on the left, new panel on the right.

Here's a better view of what I'm dealing with.

Much cleaner! Plans for the door or trim? Sorry if i missed the info...

I am not sure if I am going to paint the actual door or not... the frame around the door will probably be repainted white.
I do have some rolled up rubber baseboard in the basement. I am waiting for the weather to be consistently above 70 degrees as this stuff is self adhesive and needs adequate temperature to set correctly. I am hoping its as sticky as exterminator grade glue strips.

After scrubbing the floor this weekend with simple green and then mineral spirits, the garage is looking nice and clean. I will forego the tiles this year and just throw down some light grey floor paint.

Oh yeah, and now that its warmed up, I can take the elevator panel off and mess with the wiring with hopes of illuminating both buttons this time instead of just the one.

finally got around to tinkering with the switch today, interesting setup and tested working fine. the lower (+)(-) is connected to both buttons. The top button also has its own (+)(-).

End result the top led isn't as bright but at least it's illuminated.

Each button still controls its corresponding door.

That first shot is badass. Love how the car sits low with the matching black wall. Whats up with the upper section of the wall, is that a reflection or allusion of the stripes?

Thanks Dub. That's Rustoleum metallic paint alternating on the studs vertically. Makes it easier to find studs when hanging items. Sure I have a stud finder but it's not very exact.

Waking up this thread. I've moved across the country and garage 2.0 has begun. Larger space. Floor came epoxy coated in a sand color. Actually everything was the same camel color. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1417364338.220507.jpg

I have it looking decent so far. It's a tight fit with three vehicles so I may just keep parking my daily outside and turn the space where all the junk is into a work area.

Congrats on the new house and garage! Keep us posted with how things are working out. Where did you move to? Looks like somewhere warmer than MI if you have a hot water tank in the garage.

Love to read more about the NSX.

Very exciting to see this new project. I can certainly appreciate the feeling of creating a new space. Good luck!

p.s. What are the dimensions of your new space?

Subbing, love the garage door opener buttons as elevator switches. Can't wait to see what you do in the new space.

Thanks... we moved to the Phoenix area. Nice observation on the water heater.

cynicalrider and tjpavlov, Thanks. I couldnt source the same elevator panel as I did last year.. everything costs too dang much now. New home owners are renting but intend on buying. Not sure what they think but if they know whats good, then they will think its awesome. I really want to do something like that again in this garage.

dubber, I'll have to take measurements. While it is deeper and more wide than our MI home, it should still be another 3 feet wide for more comfort.

With the 3rd stall, that red post makes it difficult for passengers to get in/out of a vehicle parked over there.. also a tight fit exiting on drivers side.

In the main portion, its a tight fit with my wifes Audi and my Infiniti.

Located the same switch on eBay but the distance between the current wall controls I think exceeds the dimension of the elevator panel.
