I just bought a new to me home, and will be doing a little work on the garages. They are rough right now, no door openers and a lot of other issues. I posted a thread a few months ago about some Liftmaster 8500 openers, I have ordered them and they should be here any day.

This list is not necessarily in order.

* Drywall
* 220V outlets
* Garage door openers
* Lighting
* 2 Post Lift
* Repair siding / stucco back garage
* Lots of concrete
* Air conditioning on front garage
* Insulation
* Remove crappy tables / shelves
* Epoxy floors
* Remove swamp cooler
* Build 60x100 block building for additional storage
* Fix / change weird roof drains

More that I probably don't know about yet or have forgotten.

That's a lot of cool space. The gutter downspouts inside are odd... I'm guessing that was for RV storage?

Very odd. They don't even drain water as the roof on the RV garage has been redone with foam. It was originally a low pitch roof, but not completely flat. Maybe 1:12?

Lots of oddities in this house. Look at the light switch location next to the entry door inside the garage.

Also, the RV garage is not an add on. Not sure why they built it the way they did, it could have easily had a bigger opening between the garages.

Connecticut - not sure why though...

Likely for sheltered RV storage, but not necessarily working/heated garage. Perhaps plans never came to fruition.

Anyways, that's a lot of nice space you have there!\

Small update. After doing a bunch of work inside the house in the master bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen. I finally have started on the garages.

I had a bunch of fun trying to pull 3x 4ga cable in the preexisting 1 1/2 conduit to the rear garage due to this plumbing 45. Finally got that figured out and got the panel wired up.

I also removed most of the romex, boxes, and the wall in the garage. Luckily the romex wasn't stapled yet. I was also a bit surprised the wall was built with metal 2x4s and insulated. I think everything used was stolen or left overs from a job site. I was able to reuse some of the insulation on the walls.

I have started wiring the garage and hope to have lights in the next day or two before I leave for Henderson for a BITD race. Between work, short winter days, and racing events I have had very little time to work on the garages.

Do you have three garages, one attached and two freestanding? I see stucco which I interpret as attached, the wood clad three bay, but no place do I see the tall RV storage bay.

If you want to open up between the RV bay and the shop you should be able to frame in some headers while the walls are open. If you do not have a RV or plan to get one you could frame in a full length storage loft.

Just two garages. One three car detached and one attached to the house. The one attached to the house is a standard two car with an RV hooked to the side of it.

The RV garage is getting a 9k lift I have laying around and possibly a small mezzanine (12ft wide x 6ft or so) in the back for storage.

Been looking into a tool box I can make into a workbench like others have done. I have 161" width to work with after 1/2 per side drywall in the back of the RV Garage.

Going to do two of these:

Between three 44" HF toolboxes:

and five of these cabinets mounted above:

With white walls it should look fairly "Merica". I haven't figured out exactly how I will do the frame and the table top yet. Wood is easy but I'm not sure how I feel about that. I for sure want a metal top so oil and solvents can not be absorbed. A drain would be a plus.

It's been raining here pretty heavy and I am getting water in the back garage (the one I am currently drywalling) coming under the garage doors.

Part of this is due to the seals being sun rotted on the doors, I am in the process of replacing them. However, it also seems like the exposed edge of the concrete is not angled to drain water away from the door rather than toward it. What is the best method to repair this? Grind a taper into the edge (maybe 5" of 1:12 slope?) or do I need to cut the concrete out and re do it when I pour the driveway?

Went to Home Depot to return a fan and bought $500 of concrete epoxy and stain...

Should be able to start coating floors in the back garage once drywall is done.

Philofab,
Are you using a panel lift for the ceiling drywall? We used one on my son's home addition with 8' plus ceilings. It was worth it's weight in gold... I would love to have all that space! Especially the RV garage, great project you got there. God bless.
