I've finally managed to move into a house with a garage attached, very difficult to find a rental house with a garage and we don't really do garages over here anyway which makes it even more difficult.

This is what I have anyway, 8'x16' so not a whole lot of room but I only need to store my VFR 750 in there anyway so I'll manage.

This was it on arrival!

First thing I needed to do was get myself a workbench, of course I've precisely zero experience with woodwork so looked up google for some workbench plans and then headed off to buy some 2x4 :dunno:

Following a lot of cutting, hammering and swearing I got to this point and gave up for the day

This was how it stood then for a week

This weekend I got the rest of it up

And then got some chipboard for the top, cheapest thing I could get, may replace it for something sturdier if it doesn't hold up.

So this is how it stands now after tidying the place up a bit and organising a few tools on it. Currently rebuilding the front caliper of the bike on the bench, putting it to good use straight away

I'm reasonably happy with it so far, being a rental house I'm reluctant to do anything that involves drilling holes in the walls etc. Realistically I need more light though for a start, going to try get a flow tube above the bench for a start and then see what I can do about the rest of the room. Ideally I'd also like to put something down on the floor, it is sealed concrete but it looks terrible if nothing else, even if I just done a section to park the bike on it'd be easier for working on it. Definitely need to get a vice for the bench but that'll have to wait till next month at least.

As long as the bench doesn't fall down I'll be happy enough to start with :lol_hitti

Ya I must ask the landlord about paint alright, a light colour would really brighten the place up a lot.

Ya the bike is not bad, just resprayed It recently, it's my everyday transport most of the time so it'll never be perfect but I do like it a lot.

Will enjoy watching this. I myself have a garage about 8 feet wide and I mostly use it for some tool storage and my motorcycle as well. Will be starting my own thread soon. Shelf looks nice.
