Bummer about having to rebuild your tool set.

So, ... not meaning to pry, but is there a lesson to share regarding what happened to the original tool set and how you plan to prevent a recurrence?

Yeah I would like to know what your doing to prevent it from happening again. I hate to see someone loose the tools they use to make a living.

That'll fit in a tote box. Don't leave it at work, take it home with you at the end of the day. Mark all of the tools.

Sorry to hear about your loss, that really is not right. Don't let them see your tools, but make sure the get a close look at your 12 gauge!!!!! Ken.

I need an engraver any suggestions?

Give this engraving plan a little thought before you do it. I've never been convinced that it is a worthwhile thing to do.

Upsides: It keeps any of your co-workers from walking off with your stuff, or getting your tools mixed with theirs. Also, if the thief tries to pawn your stuff the police can identify the stolen items.

Downsides: It won't prevent a smash and grab theft or the thief from just keeping and using your tools. It's also easy to sell marked tools on eBay or the street with little problem. And, it reduces the resale value if you wish to sell some of your tools yourself in the future.

Is it possible to document your tool inventory and insure the tools? Heck, they make you money, they deserve protection.
