I was trying to lift a friend's car to take a look but my FJ200 would not pump up under the load. The temperature in the garage was around 27F-29F. Is this normal? I had to use my Craftsman 2T jack. I am lost why FJ200 would not work when the temperature is below 30F? What are the reasons?

my guess would be whatever flavor of fluid inside thickened up enough in the cold that it changed viscosity enough that it wasn't pumping. coincidentally the same thing happened last month with a buddy's HF daytona jack that he keeps in his garage, although it was under 10* when we tried using it. I also have never had the issue with my craftsman jacks in the cold, so I would guess maybe they come with a slightly different, possibly thinner fluid.

Maybe some moisture in the oil from condensation. The water turned to ice, and blocked a passageway or held open a check valve. I would put the jack in a warm place for a day and then change the oil.

Probably best if you chucked that POC and get the HF Daytona. I mean, what do you expect from a $600 jack? Sheesh.
