well here is some of the mods i have done and still working on some with more to come it takes time to find the wright ones on ebay and at a good deal.

3/8x1/2 pt stubby iv had it quite a wile dont realy use it just figured it would look better laying around with a nice handel

well theres the finished product it gave it a better look and feel
ok here is my mod iv been whanting to do for a mile turning my dual 80s to cranberry to go with my box.

incase you were wondering why dismantel a good set of rare hard handel screwdrivers it is a lot harder to find a set of hard handel cranberry dual80 ratchets i plan on useing the blades in this set if eny get worn or damaged i have 2 more to do should match the box.

Cool stuff and awesome box. Reminds me to get a SO or williams handle for my FOHF80. Any clue which size screwdriver might work for that? #2 phillips?

Love that cranberry handle mod.... as mentioned I'd be a bit worried to try it myself though! Can't stand the thought of hacking up a good set of drivers.

Pretty gutsy but they sure did turn out pretty, the bad new is that the instincts use different blades than the hard handles.

they are under drilled one size the ratchets have wings like the screwdriver blades

the ratchets have wings that come out of round part of the shaft. You drill the hole the size of the shaft so the wings dig into the solid part of the handle. It's just the way SO does the screwdrivers and did the old ratchets.

The import cheapy is held in by pure friction. You drill the hole a bit smaller than the shaft. Well at least that is how I did mine.

was not aware of that have not had a instinct apart will find something to do with them.

Ah, got it! The stubby looks like it was ground down a bit to a cylindrical profile, so pure friction-hold makes sense.

And if you are ever wanting to do something similar a sqare shaft works pretty good in the friction hold dept. T

Just curious, but why does everyone say that this is pretty gutsy to do? All your doing is modifying the handle slightly, doesn't anyone use their tools very often, this kind of modification is fairly simple.

While actually doing it might not be difficult you still have to get over the mental hurdle of cutting up two very expensive sets of tools to make one functioning set.

you would be in the hole set ratchrts and screw drivers about 650.00 retail
i didnt pay retail for eny of it.

Nope. F ex the SSD4 flat tip, replacement blade stock nr is SSD4RB
Same replacement blade for Instinct SGD4RB as well

I'd like to see the Snap-on guys face if you were to try and warranty the orange handle ratchet. Seems like all they want to do anymore is sell big $$ toolboxes and high dollar rebadged stuff anyway.Guess somebodys gotta pay for the deisel fuel that goes in that bis *** truck. To hell with them if they don't want to warranty my stuff because there's to much competition out there.

I have replaced many blades on both types, and it works fine with SSD4RB on both
