I don't use my bench grinder or vice very often so having them mounted to my work bench means they are usually just in the way. I came up with a different idea for my new shop.

I fabricated two brackets out of 2" square tube that I will mount my vice\grinder to.

The brackets will fit into a bumper receiver hitch.

With this, I can slide the grinder/vice into the front of my bench when I need to and store them on a shelf when not in use.

Bunch of people on the vise thread did that.

I like big brake drums with a short post for heavy vises. (Concrete fill optional.) Small vises are taller with post welded to plow disc. I roll them all over shop.

I use this method as well for benders and thing I don't want to permenantly install. I have a standard receiver tube welded on my front end loader bucket. That way I can use the tractor as a heavy anchor for benders, vices, etc. also handy for moving trailers around.

That is a great idea. I've never read the vice thread, so this is new to me!
