that looks awsome not a dad yet but will be around october happy but not thrilled but that makes me kind of excited and all the projects you guys have with your lil ones i will be a kid again haha sounds like fun

Hey! I made one for the boys yesterday too! mine are 4 and 2 so they are good rocket retrievers, not very good on launch pad construction.

That ones looks different that the one I used to use, so I'm not sure how the OP's works. The one I used had an air hose running through a stopper placed on the bottle. The air hose ran to a bicycle pump. A string was tied to a hook holding the bottle in place, which could be pulled at the desired moment.

We used to pump up the PSI until it would start spraying past the stopper. Those things would fly! I've always wanted to build one of these for myself.

I remember the water rockets as a kid. Fill the rocket with half way with water, stick it on the pump and pump away. Slide the release back and the rocket would take off.

I wasn't sure how these things work.
