My Son’s new to him drill press

My son just bought a Walker Turner 17 drill press for his shop. It looks to be all original and in great shape but has a later model Craftsman motor adapted to it for. Trying to find info about it but haven’t found the correct search words yet. It also has a Rockwell tag with the model number 67-000. Any help out there?

I think he did well with only paying $75 for it!
It also doesn’t have the normal arc of shame on the table but does have what seems to be a good quality bolt down fence.

I had a Rockwell 17" drill press badged both Rockwell and WT. Rockwell purchased WT in 1956 I believe and dual badged machines for a while. Based on the serial number this is a 1963 machine.

Thanks all for the valuable info. For being a 63 year model I think it must have had very light use since it is in the shape it’s in. I haven’t put a dial indicator on it yet but the quill and shaft seem to have no play in either the up or full down position.
No major scratches or chips in the paint. The only thing that I can find wrong is the return spring for the quill seems broken or slipped out of place. Once that is fixed it should last him for many years to come.

I think jack may be over estimating the value. At least around places I have lived. It doesn’t have the middle pulley which add a good bit of value. It does have the hat. Those get taken off lost/broken very often. That is pretty cool.

Definitely provide a lifetime of service for the price of a throw away Chinese tool. I would call that a win.

I wonder if the Rockwell W-T drill presses were numbered differently than the straight Rockwell numbered ones. Your W-T is very similar in looks to my dual-gang Rockwell 15-665's. But I've never been able to figure out when mine were built.

I think jack may be over estimating the value.

I don't but values tend to be regional. Jack's estimate may even be a little conservative IMHO. That's a 17" machinist DP with a table lift mechanism. It's also a creampuff based on the images.
