Ok, not so much on the sweet new vise... The remains of a Columbian D45-M4 happened to be still partially attached to a work table I bought. That is what this post is REALLY about!

2 Shure Manufacturing BIG RED Work Tables. One is in kinda rough shape, but I will get it straightened up shortly (the top has some bends). The other is quiet straight as it is. They appear to be roughly 1/8" steel and are very stout, well they are after I tightened up the bolts...

I don't think I did bad for $80.

Those work tables look nice and pretty stout. Love the color too. I'd be tempted to clean them up and leave the original paint, but I'm a sucker for red. :bounce:

Wow someone really used that vise! Nice table though!

Lots of life left in that vise! :) Well, maybe not...

They weigh 125lbs, without the drawers I believe. They are very stout. Not sure if I will just clean them up, or repaint them. The damage to the top of the right table is worse than the picture shows. Not sure if a torch will be used to straighten it, or if I might have to cut out a section and weld in some new 1/8" for the end of the top.

Well, if someone around KC needs the stationary jaw/anvil end of a Columbian D45-M4 vise, let me know! Otherwise to the recycler it goes.

Unless you just need a steel top for welding etc, I would consider topping the steel with wood. I prefer the sound and feel of a wood surface - unless I need the steel. $80 for two benches with drawers is a bargain.
