Well, I think my craftsman stack has finally met its end. I was trying to open a drawer to put some misc electrical stuff away and as I closed it it seemed to have gotten stuck. I saw that my mity vac was holding it up so I used a long pry bar to push it out of the way but it still would not close.

I put a little bit more force thinking that the slide had become stuck and nothing so I said heck with it and pushed a little harder and I think I bent the sheet metal where the slides would mount. The drawer is probably over the weight capacity of the friction slides and it was a cheap craftsman stack that I bought about 9 years ago. So I have three drawers with broken/bent slide mounts and I guess its time to replace it.

Anyone feel like donating to the "Get Joe a new toolbox fund"?

Be sure to have a proper ceremony and bury it deep enough that the neighborhood dogs don't dig it up. Prayers sent & my most sincere condolences. ;)

Clearly, you own too many tools. Send me your address and I'll mail you a pre-paid shipping label so you can dispose of them responsibly.

I was a broke college student at one time too...Bought an almost new Craftsman setup off the SnapOn truck (trade in) for $200, sold the top off to a friend for $200.00...
Years later I got what I paid for. Dont get me wrong, it did its thing, but I will NOT replace it with a Cman...Snappy or Mac.

I work for Disney and MAC is the official tool supplier, I should flag the truck down and see if he has any used boxes in his inventory.

I'm saving up for a 140, but my garage only has one wall plug!!! I might need to fix that. I've been wanting to learn how to weld for a long time. Plus my diesel engine I have sitting on a stand might en up in a Ford Ranger. I've wanted a small diesel pic up for some time and I could just make one.

I dunno, Joe. Sounds like the box might have been murdered!

Yeaaaah, it might be a while since I'm a broke college student trying to save up to work on my engine swap.

If you're a reasonably good looking woman between the ages of 18 and 45 I have a business proposition which will help you pick up some cash.......:pimpflash

I used my craftsman box for years through college, but finally ran out of space. I bought a harbor freight tool cart for extra storage and it is miles better than the craftman stuff I currently have. I learned of it thanks to the many posts here saying how good it is, especially for the money, so consider it if you need another cheap option.
