After arriving back home late Christmas day, I was trying to wind down from being out of state to see family. I jumped on Craigslist as I do a few times a week to see if there are any tools for sale that I could pick up for cheap. To my surprise, there was a add placed just 12 minutes prior for a Craftsman HD 5-drawer roll-away... for $35! I fired off a e-mail and asked the poster to call me first thing in the morning as I would buy the the box site unseen.

The poster calls Saturday morning and we make arraignments to pick up the box in the afternoon. At the end of the converstation the seller states he has some tools in a box he will through in. I'm thinking cool, but wasn't expecting much.

Once at the sellers house later in the day I'm giddy as a girl as the box is used, but in very good condition and it was only $35! We load up the box in my truck and at this point I'd forgot about the tools when the seller reminds me of them. I walk back into the garage and he points to a document storage cardboard box that is over flowing with tools! I thank the man, grab the box and load it into the back of my truck. Now the box was an unexpected Christmas present, but the tools were just icing on an all ready sweet deal. The seller stated he was moving to CA to be closer to Grandkids and he didn't have room to take the box or tools.

As you can see in the pictures below, the tools covered most of my workbench. I just had to share my "find" as I always seem to be a dollar short & a day late on finding a sweet deal.

It looks like a Williams ratchet on the table which cost him more than $35.00 when he bought it.

Cool, I keep my eye out on craigslist and I've gotten some really good deals on there too. As well as members of this board giving me heads ups on Ebay listings. I've never gotten a deal like you got, but I am more then happy with the 3 killer deals I've gotten so far.

and of course YOU ****

Yeah it sucked trying to pull my jaw off the floor as I was walking out of the sellers garage! The 3/8" Craftsman ratchet is broken, so it's off to Sears tomorrow to take advantage of that life time warrenty.

r0meyrome - The channel locks along with both 1/2" ratchet's were at the top of the box and both caught my eye at the same time.

vssjim - It is indeed a Williams ratchet. With a little cleaning it will be a huge step up from the store brand 1/2" ratchet that will be headed to my tool box in my race trailer.

wrenchr - Me too! No more cheater pipe extension's!

petty4243 - The brake pliers are Craftsman.

There is a cop looking for the tools you stole. You can send them to me for safe keeping.

I don’t have any fears of the tools being stolen as he kept the top half of the Craftsman tool box and I would guess the tools he gave me wouldn’t fit in it. He did make a comment that he was moving to CA to so he could spend time with his grand kids and didn't have room to take the box or tools. The house was for sale also (a newer house at that), so I’m not worried about the story.

Its unseasonable cold here and I don’t have heat in the garage. Looks like I’ll have to wait another weekend to start cleaning up the tools and the box before putting everything away.
