My tool room remodel

Needed a room to keep my tool box and have a workbench and storage that I could keep "clean". At least compared to rest of my shop. I'll have a garage door between this room and the shop so it can be open if I want or closed off without affecting useability. It's still in progress. I'm recovering from shoulder surgery now so it's on hold. I'll post one pic per post due to their size.

Some finishing touches on the cabinets. I thought a mooneyes theme would be good. As I'm a total gear head.

What are the cabinets made out of, and what kind of paint did you use? They look good, and my brother-in-law wants something similar.

That's awesome. You've really done a great job. I honestly never thought of having a separate room for tools and workbench, but that's a great idea.

Great job. I love the mooneye theme. The room looks like it is about 10'X20'? That is the same set up I have and it becomes a clean room for tools, office, storage, etc. The yellow is looking great. I really like the cabinets you have done.

Great job and keep us posted!

Best Regards

Wow thanks guys. Really it looks better in pics than in person. But it is a workspace. It's pretty small space 11 x 13 but if there's a place for everything it's almost better. More shop space and none wasted in tool room. There is more done that I need to take pics of and post em up. But in the blizzard the other day the front door blew open in 40 mph winds and covered the room with snow. I have a mess on my hands and it's been below zero. I'll get to it. RS59

Lookin GOOD Rocketsled!!! What a difference a little paint and imagination can do to a set of metal cabinets. Great ideas. Sorry to hear about the snowdrifts in the shop though. Me, I been fixing busted waterlines for the last 2 days. If you want to see a crowd in the Lowes plumbing department, visit one in Georgia 2 days after temperatures have been single digit for 2-3 days......

I heard that! This weather has been unprecedented. And I don't care to see it again in my lifetime. Ready for spring! Love your buicks. Just finished up a restoration on a 53 skylark. The restoration shop I work at specializes in vintage buicks.

Finally snapped a few more pics. This is the bench. 2x4 3/4" plywood and 4x4 construction. I live near several coal mines and had a piece of mine belt given to me. It used to carry coal on a long conveyer. Now it's a nice work surface . I sheared and bent 18 ga. Sheet steel for the finish on the corners around the top surface. Kinda messy right now cause if been workin on my falcon gasser project.

The opening has an eight foot garage door than can be closed if there's a messy job in the shop. When open I have open access to the shop and tool room. I put a 42" front door in and took a sidelite that I got at menards in the bargain bin and hinged it the opposite way with bolt locks top and bottom so the entire thing can be opened to bring in materials thru front door. Also nice to be able to ride my harley right into the tool room and on into the shop without having to use the big door in the shop.

Love your sign "*******'s Garage". I had one like that myself, except later in life some friends and co workers decided to honor me with an upgrade to "Master *******".
I kept the certificate for years.

I got a birthday cake at a place I used to work that said "happy birthday *******". I've misplaced the picture of it over the years.
