Hi guys, I wish I had stubbled across this site when I was building, but better late than never. Started with a 20 x 23ft and managed to stretch it out to 20 x 40 with an extra 20 for parking. it's insulated, lined, wired and plumbed and I just love being in here. It was about 18 months in the making, but as you can see by the last photo, it gets well used.

Looks great, like you can get a whole lot done out there.

Can somebody explain to me what inspired everybody and his brother to paint their garages with a red horizontal stripe/gray below/white above? :headscrat

The reason I painted mine those colors was, I worked in a Nissan dealership and in exchange for helping with some of the painting of the parts room, I got to take the leftover paint home! My understanding was, Nissan required them to use those colors. I wouldn't be surprised if they did some kind of focus group on it (automakers do focus groups for everything), and found out that those colors make people feel good about their cars somehow.

Any pictures? If none, it didn't happen. LOL

The grey is not paint. At work we get large 1/4 inch thick sheets of acrylic plastic and that is what the the lower half of the shed is lined with. It's great, nothing sticks to it and I can wash it down. The white is paint and it seemed logical for light reflection. The red just looked right.
