Looks good.

Can I make a suggestion?

I would keep (even if just a small section) of the exposed brick.

Looks cool and it would be different.

Plus, keeps some of the charm of the old garage.

Just Google brick cleaners and there's a ton out there. I agree that it looks cool and should be preserved. My shed houses most anything that could blow up/ignite and all the dirty gardening equipment. They are easily built; just mind your local ordinances.

A pretty darn good transformation. How about telling us a little about yourself? You know, what your interests are in the car...rod...scene.
Before I forget...welcome to the insanity!!

ok well im 20 soon to be 21.. i kind of have 5 part time jobs in a way.. I work two different jobs landscaping.. one in construction and one in moving people on the weekends.. than theres my company that i started in late august of last year which is another lawn care company.. so as you can tell i like working with my hands.. i have two boats. ones been restored and the others in the process.. so thats a hobby.. also working on the truck.. and at one point i want to buy an old 64 1/2 to 71 mustang to restore from the ground up.. .. the main reason im doing this is so that i can bring my equipment inside and work on it without having to move a hundred things just to get to some work space..

If you guys want i can get pics of the equipment i have so far.. and the boats

Wow, you sure have your work cut out for you. Good job so far.

I'd recommend throwing out whatever hasn't been used in 10 years. And throw out all old paint and fluids. That stuff doesn't last forever. Then I'd divide up everything into categories like boat/auto maint/welding-fab/recreation(bikes golf clubs et.)/landscaping care/ etc. If possible put your lawn care in an outdoor shed. Once you figure out how you're using the garage space then you can plan your lighting. You can't have too much light.

I wouldn't worry about painting the walls and floor until you get organized and light the space properly.

hmm good thinking.. i sorta did that with the cabinets.. i didnt think to do it with the whole garage.. .. the old paint and stuff don't i need to wait for a hazardous waste day to throw them out? ..

Heres a pic with the boat inside.. its nice to have all that light.. before i had to work on it with one flood light.

Looking good - you are an inspiration!!!

Good looking boat too. I'm working on mine as well - just replaced a worn out Johnson 115 w/ a newer Mercury 150. It's gonna scream. Seats and upholstery next.

I agree with everyone - great work! Looks like Dad forgot the importance of the garage and having some hobbies! I'm sure the parents will like that you cleaned it out!
Cool boat being restored - what year?

Hahha hes busy with work and all of the yard projects... i told them i cleaned it so i get to put my project in there. unless it snows than both their cars go in..

The one inside is a 1977 Columbian.. it was my grandfathers boat. than handed it down to us.. transom turned to rot so it went and sat in the field for 5 years.. right now the motor done and waiting.. the transom stringer and deck are all glassed in .

It's a 16.5' Skeeter SF160. 1984 model. The Johnson is a 1979 model 115HP. You want to buy it??

I'll post some boat pictures if I can find them......
